Vehicle Detail

Thanks for coming to check out this auction! I have an excellent reputation as a seller & a 100% positive feedback rating on eBay, so you can bid with confidence on my items! This is a NO RESERVE auction!!! Shown here is a 1967 Kaiser-Jeep M-715 Military five-quarter (1 & ¼ ton) 4x4 truck. They only built these fantastic trucks in ’67 and ’68, and this one was used by the U.S. Armed Services briefly during Vietnam, then by a fire department as a brush truck once being retired. It’s been stored indoors for the majority of it’s life, but does have some rust in the floorboards where rain water collected and sat. Otherwise, it's very much rust free! It has only about 16,921 miles on it, although the speedometer recently quit working. The M-715 was a predecessor to the currently used Hum Vee, and the replacement for the M-37 & Dodge Power Wagon of the 1940s and ‘50s. It has Heavy Duty Dana 60 & 70 axles front and rear, and is geared low, so it tops out at about 60 miles per hour, but will pull stumps right out of the ground and climb up incredibly steep inclines! Obviously, the roof comes off, as well as the doors, and the windshield folds down for total open air driving! Who needs air conditioning with these features?!! The truck is decked out with some accessories including a fold up shovel, axe, ammo box, auxiliary fuel can, rifle holder, helmets, and an original canvas military style top! This is the Ultimate Off-Road Rig yet is completely street legal and a ton of fun just to cruise around town in as well. People's jaws drop when they see this thing in traffic (Especially with the top off, and windshield folded down... and if you're wearing a camoflauge shirt & the Army helmet, it adds to the effect as well). Some people think it's funny that someone would actually drive such a thing, but everyone else just thinks it's friggin sweet! ...This thing will take you places a goat wouldn’t go! (see attached YouTube video clip at the bottom of this page!). It’s got the factory 230 cubic inch Overhead Camshaft inline six-cylinder engine and a 4-speed manual transmission with the indestructible “twin stick” divorced transfer case. This "Tornado" engine design was pretty advanced in its day, and though not a horsepower monster, it does make very good low-end torque (its peak torque happens at just around 1,700 rpm). It has factory 16 inch wheels, heavy duty mud flares, tow-hooks for quick link up in case you need to pull someone else out of a sticky situation, and more! The tires are brand new, and look awesome on this truck. The truck has vacuum windshield wipers. All the gauges work, except for the speedometer. The driver's seat is covered with vinyl and the backs fold down to keep dry if you leave it out in the rain with the top removed. The passenger side just has a green t-shirt draped over it in the pictures, and still needs to be upholstered with vinly like the driver's seat. We just replaced the master cylinder last week, and the brakes are in working order now, however still need to be blead as there's air in the lines, and you have to give it a couple of pumps before you get pedal (just haven't had time to take care of the last finishing touches). The exhaust is in decent shape overall, and the truck runs quietly. The gasoline in the tank is pretty orange in color (from rust), and kept plugging up fuel filters, so we bypassed it temporarily using an outboard motor boat-tank. The original tank could stand to be dropped, and lined (they make a product which you can line the inside of a tank with which seals it permanently)... we have lots of project vehicles, and simply haven't gotten around to doing it in the time we've owned the truck. We've been getting along just fine with the temporary boat tank, though... and did take it in our local Band Fest parade last month, and went on a vintage car cruise with it with a large American flag drapped off the back. It was a HUGE hit! People just loved it. I parked it right next to a guy with a late-model $250,000.00 Bently Convertible with a V-12 in it at the car show... and barely anyone even paid attention to his car... it was quite comical... they just flocked to the M-715. I'm surprised at how many people have never seen one of these trucks. The paint is new, and I should mention that the vehicle comes with a BRAND NEW, just built M-715 tailgate. It doesn't say JEEP on it, but is straight, and built double thickness from the original ones, so this one shouldn't bend on you! It will come with the truck, but is not assembled or installed yet. The headlights & taillights work on this truck, but the turn signals do not. There is a heavy duty pintle style hitch on this rig (you would need an adapter for standard ball-type hitches), but you could hook up your boat, camper, snowmobile/atv trailer, or bolt in a 5th wheel hitch etc and go on some unforgettable adventures with your friends/family! It would also make the ultimate plow truck, or hunting truck (hide from the animals with the ultra-flat, drab paint scheme!). I’ve started out the opening bid of the listing at a VERY fair price with the reserve set not much higher, so don’t miss out on this great classic military 4x4! If you have unreliable internet service, or think there’s a possibility that you might not be around for the end of the auction, please be sure to get your bid in on it with adequate time left before the bidding is closed! Use a bid snipe service if you have to, but don’t miss out on this opportunity to own this Ultimate Military Jeep!! If you have any trouble viewing the slideshow at the top of this page just click on the thumbnail image below to view all 56 super-sized photos of this truck! M-715 M-715 …and now for the fine print. This vehicle is being sold As Is with no warranty, and is to be paid for in cash upon arrival (if picking it up in person), otherwise a cashier’s check made out to myself: Jesse Wunderlich, 15791 Nettle Ave., Mason City, Iowa 50401 is acceptable if having it shipped with an auto transporter. I require a $250.00 security deposit within 5 days of auction’s end, and the remainder of the vehicle to be paid for within no more than 10 days. If you intend to have this car shipped with a car carrier, the auto transporter we typically recommend is: Atlas Auto Transport (888)285-2706. They can get you a quote right over the phone. Thanks for looking!
