1974 Jeep CJ 5 Four Wheel Drive Great off road vehicle, but could be licensed for street use, too. Turn signals and lights work, except high beams. For an old CJ, it drives well on the road, but excels off road. I owned a Jeep Cherokee with an air locker in the front axle and a spool in the rear, and new swampers all around, and this little CJ climbed hills that my cherokee couldn't make it up. It also did better in the mud as well. Needless to say, I got rid of the Cherokee and kept the CJ. I don't offroad anymore, and I have a new Jeep to drive on the street. I hate to get rid of it, and if it doesn't sell quick I'll probably decide to keep it. The body is really rough, but the straight 6 cyl. runs great. It starts right up, and the 4 wheel drive works fine. The transmission, or the transfer case, is a little noisy (don't know which) but both work with no problems. Another thing this jeep has going for it is its solid frame. It has surface rust of course, but where most old CJs have rust problems at the leaf spring brackets this one does not. It has a new gas tank and fuel pump. The brakes need some work, probably bleed, they only work a little with a lot of pressure on the pedal. The windshield wipers dont work. I have a clear title for this vehicle. Please ask questions, and thanks for looking.
