Vehicle Detail

This 1951 Ford F-1 has a clear title and current registration. It runs and drives good. The truck has spent it’s life in SW Oklahoma (near desert climate) and the body is one of the nicest I have seen. Body The body has repairs made by a previous owner in the front fenders. That is the only area where there has been obvious body work done. The rest of the body seems solid with no rust hole problems. The body has minor dings and dents. These aren’t from collision damage, just 60 years worth of minor dings and dents so check the pictures closely. The bed has a section welded on, it looks like something was installed in the bedside at some point, check the pictures. All windows work. They open and close well, roll up and down, don’t leak or anything like that. Doors open and close good and locks work but I don’t have a key. The air cowl open and closes as it should. Hood latch works as it should and the springs work correctly and hold the hood up when it’s open. From what I have seen on EBay and CL, this is some of the nicest sheet metal around. The truck has been painted with heavy equipment paint. It looks nice on the road and from 10 feet away but up close you can tell the paint is an amateur job. Everyone you see will give a thumbs up, wave, honk, and talk to you about the truck. Engine The engine is a 223 OHV I6. Recent complete tune up including new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, carb rebuild, starter rebuild, new fuel pump, fuel lines, oil & filter, points, condenser, coil, fuel filter etc. Engine cranks easily and runs good. The cooling system has been flushed and does not leak. There are no fuel leaks. The oil bath air cleaner is in good shape and the correct clamp is still in use. The exhaust is in good condition with no leaks. The engine still has plenty power, but it does have some blow-by. This is not the original engine that came in the truck but I do have the original engine and it is included in this sale. The original engine is also a 223 OHV I6 (or possibly a 215). It is rebuildable but the previous owner told me it was worn out. It also has a cracked manifold. I also have a spare starter to include with the sale, I had it repaired and tested. I have the original glass bowl fuel pump. The pump does not work, but you can use the stem and bowl to convert the new pump to glass bowl style if you prefer. I have some other spare parts like a generator and carburetor (condition unknown). See it running here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcW9Y2UktfI Transmission The transmission is a 4 speed manual. The clutch and transmission both work as they should. There is some vibration/shaking around 40 mph that I think might be clutch or u-joint related. I also have a good spare transmission that I am including in the sale. Rear axle I believe the rear axle is a Ford 9 inch with 3.92 gears. I think this is the original axle. It works as it should. Brakes/Steering This truck has 4 wheel manual drum brakes. I installed a remanufactured master cylinder and bleed the lines. The truck stops good and there are no brake fluid leaks. The steering works good. Frame Frame is in fine shape with no rust or very minor surface rust. The springs and shocks are in average shape and the trucks rides good. Interior The interior of this truck is very nice. The floors are great, seats awesome, dash paint is very nice. The interior is clean! No trees growing in this one! Electrical/Gauges The speedometer works smoothly and seems accurate, headlights work, turn signals work. The choke cable is broken and the choke is wired open. The heater fan blows sometimes and sometimes it wont. The truck has been converted to 12 volt with an aftermarket, firewall mounted conversion box. The battery is strong. It starts every time! I’m not sure about the other gauges some seem to move sometimes and others don’t. Wheels/Tires I have 3 small Ford wheel covers to include with this sale and some other bigger covers as well. The wheels are painted black with a rattle can. The tires have tread and hold air but are old, some have uneven wear and show age cracks. Other The ignition switch works fine but I do not have a key. I removed the lock tumbler and I just use a flat screwdriver to turn the switch. The tumbler is included in the sale and it’s easy to install once you have a key made. Sometimes the brake lights don’t work, sometimes they do. I think the switch needs to be cleaned or replaced. This truck has not been restored. It has been well kept and is in above average condition. Again, it comes with spare parts including starter, generator, original engine, transmission, and spare carb. Although this truck will crank, run, and drive around, I have never driven it very far from home. Please don’t plan on driving this thing across the US without replacing the tires, fixing the brake lights, and maybe doing an alignment so your new tires don’t wear to fast. Payment $500.00 Non-Refundable deposit due via paypal within 24 hours of auction ending. The remainder is due in cash, in person, within 10 days. You may also pay with a US certified cashiers check or personal check but I will hold the truck and title until the bank verifies that the check has cleared. This can take up to 2 weeks so I prefer cash. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping.
