Up for auction is this 2000 Ford Explorer XLS. It is a 4 door (+ rear) and 4 wheel drive SUV. Black exterior with gray interior. 116,500 miles. We just replaced all four tires a couple of months ago and they have hardly been driven on. New ones are: Goodyear Wrangler tires 235/75/15. Car has power windows / locks and a CD player. Air and heat work fine. It is a very clean car. Smoke and pet free. Here’s the problem: This car was looked at by a mechanic and he said it might need an intake gasket. My daughter is learning to drive and she thinks the car is too big for her to drive. We decided to sell and get something smaller instead of repairing. It has been a reliable car. The “check engine” light is on but it is drive-able right now – very short distances. The motor and transmission seem strong. Very few minor chips and dings consistent with its age. Registration is current and clear. It is not possible, nor is it reasonable to think I would be able to list every single mark or ding on the car. I’ve done my best to disclose any "noteworthy" imperfections or mechanical defects within reason! This also goes for the mechanical end of the vehicle. This is a ten year old car with +115,000 miles. Please have reasonable expectations that coincide with the year and mileage of the vehicle. Our mechanic did a good look-over of the car and said that the gasket problem was the only thing he saw that was a problem.
