1909 REO Model G Runabout 1 cylinder. Very nice early (101 year old) car with older re-paint. Body and engine have matching build number of 14731. Car starts easily and has been recently driven short distances. Engine pulls strongly but she will need some tweaks to make her a reliable distance runner. Since purchasing the car seven years ago I have rebuilt the ignition system, re-upholstered the seats, rebuilt the floor boards, recovered the running boards and lubricated the engine and drivetrain. Most recently the transmission was cleaned and lubricated with synthetic gear oil and she now shifts quite well. Car is very original except for the following details: converted to a model T timer and wizard National coil. Hood cover has been replaced some time before I purchased the car, but is a close match to the original, no compression release pedal (I have not found it necessary for driving) and one wheel was repaired prior to my ownership of the car and doesn't match the other three (see photo). All repairs made since I have owned the car have been performed to retain as much authenticity as possible. Included with the purchase is an extensive collection of original documentation, advertising, catalogs and owners manuals. These include a 1909 owners manual, 1909 original catalog, 1909 brochure and a letter that came with the car that may establish provenance (although it is not definitive.) Overall, this is a very compete and original early car that delights all who see her, and especially the lucky few who have gone for a ride. I am selling the car "as is" due to the temperamental nature of early cars, but I am sure the new owner will get years of enjoyment from this wonderful car, as I have.
