Vehicle Detail

Hi, what I have for sale- NO RESERVE - is a 1968 Mustang Coupe Hardtop. It's original color ( per original invoice ) is Lime Gold, with a black interior. It is a 6 cylinder with a one barrel carb. It has a standard shift/manual 3 speed transmission. The windows are roll up, and the brakes are manual drums all around. As you can tell from the Vin code, it was "born" in Metuchen, NJ. It was last registered in the 1980's in Ct, where it was first bought from Ford. I am not sure about the milage, but it appears correct. It comes with original paperwork- the "car invoice" from the dealer and "Quality Car Care Owners Card" from Ford - Because of the year of the car and it is a Connecticut car, it does not come with a title, bill of sale only. I am selling it because of health reasons. It cost me more than the starting price, and I hope you have fun with it - restore it or use it for parts. Thank you for your interest in my car. Hope your best dreams come true with it. Travis NOW FOR SOME INFO : The car starts right up, however I have been "bottle feeding" it gas, and jumping across the starter solenoid which needs replacing. Seems to run good. The radiator still holds coolant. Since I never drove it, I can't say much about the tranny, rear end and brakes- Could use new tires. The dash- door panels -backseat and instruments- appear good. The front seats have torn bottoms, and the tops have a hole or two.. The backs of the buckets look ok. Blinkers in the dash work- Vent-o-windows open- The headliner has two small holes in it, and is NOT falling down. All the window glass looks good. Original radio is there, glove box door works well.Has seat belts that are folded above the side windows. Comes with spare tire, and seatbelts etc. which are shown in picture. Wipers work well, and blower motor functions. I think it needs new headlights and a taillight or two. The body is in pretty good shape, missing a couple of pieces of chrome. Rust starting in the Classic Mustang areas. The quarter windows chrome looks good.I don't know how good shock towers are. Comes w/ extra old tires if you want them. The trunk looks really good, with only a small hole- see picture. Drivers front floor needs to be replaced. See pic. The rear frame rails (where the rear shackles are) looks good. Front passenger floor and support needs to be replaced. See pic. The front frame rails ( from the firewall forward ) look good. So does the crossmember under the radiator. See pic. Comes with original hubcaps, and will need some new exhaust pipes. See pic.Rear bumper has some rust. Front frame in engine compartment looks good,. Rear floors appear ok, passenger side needs a line patch. I think the rear quarters must have been replaced, since they look pretty good, so not original paint. See pics. I am by no means an expert, and was not able to take the pics myself. It's an old car, with Mustang rust issues,It would be nice if you could call and stop over to view it. I think it could be a great little car for someone, or a wealth of parts for anyone w/a 68 Stang. Please look at all the pictures and judge for yourself. Remember you can buy anything to fix it, AND being a 68, it is a REAL MUSTANG !! ( not a Ford Focus ) 1968 is the same year as the Steve McQueen Bullit car. With that little inline 6 cylinder, and a manual tranny, you could drive it daily, because it wouldn't eat too much gas.Or do some work, dump in a 351 and go like hell !! Since I am advertising this car for sale locally, I claim the right to end this auction at any time. I will not sell nor ship overseas. A $500 nonrefundable deposit via paypal must be made within 48 hrs. of end of auction and the remainder (of the total amount ) is to be paid in cash when you pick up the car. I expect the car to be picked up within 10 days of end of auction or 10 days from "buy it now".If buy it now is used, the full amount must be paid at the time of using buy it now, via paypal. The winner/buyer is responsible for any shipping arrangments and loading. On Jun-25-10 at 12:38:03 PDT, seller added the following information: * * * * * I HAD SOMEONE STOP TO VIEW THE CAR TODAY. THE CAR STARTED BY KEY -- ( still bottle feed because tank is dry ) ALSO, THE CAR WENT IN FIRST AND MOVED FORWARD, AND WENT IN REVERSE AND MOVED BACKWARDS. ( ithe clutch is working ) On Jun-27-10 at 12:43:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Special Note- Please remember, I do have this listed locally. I have had a couple of good offers, and still 4 more people coming to see it. If they give my an offer I can't refuse, I will sell the car and end my auction early as I state in the ad. Just wanted to make this very clear, so there are no sore losers. So if you want it, please bid what you want it for, or it might be sold before the end of auction. Thank you, Travis
