This is a BMW project, my mechanic tells me it needs a new head gasket. It does run but it overheats if driven more than a few miles. It has recently had the fan, water pump and radiator replaced. The Clock spring, the airbag connection under the steering wheel, was also recently replaced. It had new tires put on last fall and the clutch was replaced last fall. The front seats were reupholstered last year. The transmission may need some work because the car will drop out of third gear. My mechanic tells me it would cost about $2000 to replace the head gasket, parts and labor. I am not willing to invest that much in this car, I am not a mechanic but if you are, you may be able to replace the head gasket for much less.
