Vehicle Detail

Thanks for coming to check out my auction! I have an excellent reputation & positive feedback rating on eBay, so you can bid with confidence on my items. Please be sure to read the entire description and view all of the super-sized photos of the vehicle before placing your bids. Thank you. Shown here is an all original 1952 Cadillac in good condition. The odometer reads 56,747. Aesthetically the old re-paint is faded and peeling, so it’s more of a rat rod at this point (if you wanted to drive it just like it is). This vehicle looks decent enough to use as a daily driver right now, otherwise you could re-paint it and really make a show car out of it without too much work! All 4 tires are in excellent condition and are true, bias-ply wide whitewalls! That alone is worth about a thousand bucks, as a new set would cost that much from Coker! The car runs, drives and stops, but when we test drove it, it didn't shift into top gear. I don't know if there's a linkage which simply isn't connected properly or what else it might be. We haven't looked into it, although I did call an old transmission specialist guy here locally, and he said that it's very possible that it just needs the fluid and filter changed (it's probably 40 year old fluid in there with a gunked up filter). ...Any of you old Cadillac guys out there are welcome to send us any ideas or suggestions, and we'll try to diagnose it further before the auction is over. Hopefully it's just something simple. There is not a lot of rust on the car as you can see (but some is hidden as the driver's side fender skirt falls off because its mount up inside the fenderwell has deteriorated). The frame is solid, and floors are pretty decent. The glass is good except for a couple of cracked side pieces (they’re just flat glass anyway… so inexpensive & relatively simple to replace). The body has no major dents. The interior doorpanels are just a little tattered from 58 years of wear, as are the seats, but nothing major. The chrome is poor, and was painted over with “chrome” spray paint on the bumpers, etc (not by me!). According to the condition standards of the Old Cars Price Guide, I would say that this car is between #3 and #4 condition meaning mostly presentable inside and out, a drivable, complete vehicle with most everything in working order. Looks good from 20 feet away, but has faded paint and worn upholstery. Book value in #4 condition is $6000 and #3 condition is $13,200. I’ve listed this vehicle at FAR less than it’s worth, and have set the reserve just a few hundred dollars higher than the opening bid. You’ve got an excellent opportunity to own a beautiful Vintage Cadillac designed by The Master, Harley Earl (You need to google his name, and click on "images" if you don't know who he is!)... the car is a bargain of a deal considering its good condition! If you’ve got unreliable internet service, or think you might not be around for the end of the auction, please be sure to get your bids in with adequate time before the bidding is closed. Use a bid-snipe service if you have to, but don’t miss out if you’d like to own this great car! Thanks for looking! By bidding on this item (or otherwise agreeing to purchase the car), you acknowledge that the vehicle is being sold AS IS with no warranty implied or expressed. We require a $250.00 security deposit via PayPal or money order sent to myself: Jesse Wunderlich, 15791 Nettle Ave., Mason City, IA 50401 within 5 days of auction’s end, and the remaining balance of the vehicle is to be paid for in full within 10 days. This is also the location of the car if anyone would like to come take it for a test drive. If coming to pick it up in person, then I ask that you bring cash for the remainder of payment, otherwise if having the vehicle shipped, a Wells Fargo or Bank of America cashier’s check is acceptable. If you can’t get the vehicle picked up right away, storage for a reasonable amount of time may be an option, but please ask before you bid, and remember that the vehicle must be paid for in full within 10 days of auction’s end whether it has been picked up yet or not. I request Wells Fargo or Bank of America because they are National Chains and I can go right down to our local branch here in Mason City and cash the note right away without having to wait for a 10 day hold from another bank. This way, I can just send the title right out to you, and there’s no waiting for the funds to clear. This helps with those having a vehicle transported as well, because I cannot release a vehicle to an auto shipper if the payment is not cleared. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding. Anyone failing to pay for an item won at auction will surely have an appropriate strike against them. If you intend to have this vehicle shipped with a car carrier, the auto transporter I have been using with a good deal of success is Atlas Auto Transport, (888) 285-2706 If you have any trouble viewing the slideshow at the top of this page... please be sure to click the thumbnail image below to view the web album with all 36 Super Sized photos of the car... 1952 Coupe DeVille
