1970-71 Volkswagen Campmobile Westfalia Transporter Hardly driven, Barn kept since 2006. Purchased in 2001, I am the second owner of this vehicle.It was purchased here in Kentucky at Neil Huffman and driven across the USmostly in Arizona where he enjoyed his camping Odyssey (as he called it). Less than 3000 miles put on new engine. Painted with early original VW colors Bahama Blau and Weis $3000. 10/2001 Most all door seals replaced. Complete Engine rebuild $1598. 8/2003 odometer 27013 today 29823 Coker White Wall Tires Banjo Steering Wheel $200. (Hard to find and I have seen them go for 425.) Blaupunkt Stereo with CD changer and remote. 4 new Blaupunkt Speakers (Blaupunkt was early original VW equipment) Some wall cabinets removed. Creature comfort modifications were made. Wall paneling replaced Front kick wall replaced with pvc. Re-Upholstered bed and seat (bed works great). Table top works great. New Camper Tent top with removable screens. New Awning from Just Kampers. New Deluxe Breathable/Reflective bus cover with zip doors, elastic bottom edge and buckles. Also has original rear hatch bug screen, and front sleep cot (needs rip repair on both). Upstairs cot was removed for more room (do not have). Actors chair in some of the photo is not included (my wife wants it back). Water sink, fridge, pop-out table with magazine rack and NEW water pump faucet is included. I left it out when I went to install the new water pump because there is more room without it in there. Lots of fun. Could be your every day cruiser. Take it to car shows. I have a lot of documentation and paperwork. Copies of the original manual diagrams, Parts houses and people. It is not 100% and still needs lots of love. A real head turner.Recently bought a new beetle and have to sell the bus to pay some bills. Will soon add more photos on website. Some items yet to be installed and extras. 4 new chrome wheel trim window rubber edging rear hatch guard covers. Icebox and sink. Inside trunk lid for top entrance as on the 72-up versions was added. I found a rust hole spot under the battery that I did not know about the other day. There are a couple of rust bubbles around the window seals. Other than that, it looks free of any serious rust damage. Doors, hinges, top, work great. The engine seems to be in great shape. Starts on the first turn of the key most every time. It has original factory POWER BREAKS. This was said to be the first model to start using it and the last in that body style. It does not have air conditioning, it does have heat. The drain spout from the sink was re-routed to the other side of the vehicle so you do not step out and into water from the sliding door area. Photos on the link.
