2002 Ford Explorer
This years 2002 Ford Explorer brings with it a brand new design that includes improvements in its powerplants for a quiet yet more powerful performance and increased towing capacity, along with an independent rear suspension and AdvanceTrac interactive vehicle dynamics system. The ever-popular Explorer has dominated its niche in the market for over ten years and pumps up the comfort and performance value even more this year.
Available Models
In order to meet the diverse demands of drivers today, the 2002 Ford Explorer is offered in four versatile models - Explorer XLS, Explorer SLT, Explorer Eddie Bauer, and 2002 Ford Explorer Limited. Each model adds to the luxury or performance of the previous vehicle.
Interior Features
The 2002 Ford Explorer has an increased cabin width of two inches, and offers optional third-row seating that accommodates two adults bringing the seating capacity from five passengers to seven passengers. As well, with the rocker panels located inboard, it is now easier to climb in and out - a task further simplified by the inclusion of grab-through door handles. The third row seat folds down so that you can create more cargo space in a flash when you need it, and the seven-seat models also feature a split-folding middle seat for further convenience.
Sprinkled throughout the cabin are handy water bottle holders, two under floor storage bins (five-seat model only), one under floor storage bin in the seven-passenger option, and optional auxiliary air conditioning with moonroof available.
Exterior Features
At the push of a button on the key fob, the rear liftgate glass opens up while the rest of the doors remain locked, allowing you to safely access the cargo area. Jeweled headlights, hidden rocker panels, integrated fascia, and available seventeen-inch wheels finish off the tough yet streamlined look.
Performance
The basic powerhouse in the 2002 Ford Explorer is a 4.0-litre V6 that hits 210 horsepower and 254 lbs-ft of torque. Up another level, the available 4.6-litre Triton V8 engine features an aluminum black and heads plus overhead cam design that smacks of 239 horsepower and 282 lbs-ft of torque. The towing capacity is 2,000-3,500 lbs depending on the engine and drivetrain. For those of you with tougher towing demands for work or play, go for the upgraded towing package - it'll pull 7,300 lbs with no problem.
Safety and Security
Standard fare on the 2002 Ford Explorer includes a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, three-point seatbelts, and strategic crumple zones to channel the energy of an impact away from the cabin. The Ford Explorer also features the "Safety Canopy", which is comprised of optional side impact air bags and rollover protection; the side-curtain air bags actually deploy from the ceiling and operate independently from the front air bags.
To enhance control, the Ford Explorer features electronic tract and stability controls couples with the Control Trac four-wheel drive option. This feature calls on the four-wheel drive only when required, and directs torque appropriately to the wheels that need it.

Payments:A deposit of $500.00 payment must be paid within 24 hours of the close of the Auction. When the deposit has been submitted, "Buyer" MUST fax or scan a copy of their valid, state-issued driver's license. The remaining balance must be paid at time of delivery if picking up or before delivery if being transported. If payment is made by cashier's or personal check, we will hold all titles for 10 days or until funds have cleared.
Title Information: Vehicle titles may be held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In many cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments of up to 30 days from the time we pay a vehicle off. While we usually have all titles in our possession at closing, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive.
Finalizing Your Purchase: Winning bidder MUST communicate with us by e-mail or phone within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements to complete the transaction. If we cannot confirm your intention to buy or the sale is not completed within 2 days, we reserve the right to re-list this vehicle or sell to any other qualified buyer. Before the vehicle is released for shipment to the "Buyer", all sale-related and title-related paperwork must be signed and returned completed to the "Seller".
Shipping and Delivery: All shipping charges are the "Buyer's" responsibility. We will help with shipping arrangements but will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage! Licensed "Carriers" are generally insured for $3,000,000.00. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves our showroom. All shipping arrangements provided by us are strictly a courtesy. We are not affiliated with any carrier. Any claims or other communication regarding shipment of vehicles will be between you and the "Carrier" and not with us. The amount of time it takes for delivery depends upon the "Carrier" selected. A typical experience is 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the "Carrier" for an Estimated Time of Arrival to be sure. There also may be a possibility that vehicle may have been sold on the lot prior to your bidding or offer as we are a high volume store.
