Vehicle Detail

For sale is a light blue Mercedes 240D with a 4 speed manual transmission. The car is in good condition and starts, runs, and drives well. Floor pans have no rust! See pics below. This car has been well kept and deserves to live in a garage. There was some rust just behind some of the wheels, but this was ground away and repaired recently. Two small areas above the headlights had bubbling paint and I recently ground this away and primed them. However these areas should be ground again and built up using metal filler or bondo to regain the smooth surface. Also a small patch of surface rust on the trunk lid was sanded down and primed. The blower works! (That's a big deal in case you were wondering) Recent work includes: - Just passed PA inspection - New front brake pads, rotors, and flexible lines - Steering box attachment to frame repaired - Gearshift bushings (shifter end and transmission end) - Repaired odometer - Installed LED 3rd brake light (removable with no trace if you don't like it) - New tires - OEM fog lights added - New front windshield and seal - Glow plugs replaced with pencil style plugs - New stereo installed with front and rear speakers and subwoofer (under passenger seat) A/C does not work. I planned to evacuate the system and install Envirosafe ES-12 but did not get to it. You can have a couple cans if you'd like. Rear defroster does not work (probably the grid in the rear window is rusted and has lost continuity) Odometer reads 51,868 miles. I don't have any records from before my ownership, its probably 150,000 but I have no way of knowing for sure, I don't know how long the odometer was broken before I got it. I've had the car for two years and its been great. I've only driven it about 8,000 miles in the last two years. It stayed parked during the winter to keep the salt off the car. However I have too many vehicles at the moment and no garage to protect this car. I'd rather keep it than sell it, but I have to sell one car and this one is "needed" the least. There are two independent Mercedes mechanics nearby (one is my regular mechanic that knows the car well) and one Mercedes dealer, if you'd like to schedule a pre-purchase inspection. I've received some concerns from interested parties who are out of town and unsure of bidding without being able to see the car first hand. To help put out-of-town bidders at ease, I will not hold the high bidder responsible for completing the sale if they cannot come see the car during the auction. If you are the high bidder, you must pay a $200 deposit within 48 hours of the close of the auction. If you are not satisfied with the the vehicle when you come to complete the sale, I will refund you $100 of the deposit (the remaining $100 will help me cover the cost of the auction, the ebay fee for a successfully completed auction is $125). However, if you do come look at the car during the auction and are the high bidder, you will be responsible for completing the sale at the close of the auction. To arrange a viewing of the vehicle during the auction, please email me through the ebay website or call me at 717-620-9820.
