For Sale: 1996 Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep is currently owned by the Dixon, Illinois Police Department. The vehicle was purchased new and was used as an administrative vehicle. The vehicle was then used as an undercover vehicle and used during snowstorms. The vehicle is in very good shape for the age and has approximately 61,870 miles on the vehicle. There appears to be no rust on the vehicle. There are a couple of spots on the roof and on the hood where the paint is starting to discolor (See photos). The floor in the interior is vinyl and there is a small tear in the driver’s seat (See photo). At the time the photos were taken, the interior lights and radio were still in the vehicle. Those items will be removed prior to the sale. The Jeep has a 2 inch receiver hitch. The Jeep has power windows and power locks. The tires are Firestone brand and have 40-50% tread left. Three of the four center pieces for the wheels are missing. The air conditioning does not work (Unknown exact problem with the air conditioning). There is nothing mechanically wrong with the vehicle and can be driven once purchased.
