Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1970 Mustang Mach 1 Q code originally equipped with the 428 Cobra Jet, 4 speed close ratio toploader and 3:25 final drive. The car was originally medium bright blue (more commonly Acapulco Blue) and deluxe white clarion knit / Corinthian vinyl buckets. Of all the 1970 428 Cobra Jet combinations built the Q code 4 speed was the lowest production combination total of only 320. With the previous owner the car sat in a barn and never tagged for the past 3 years. I’ve been able to identify the previous 3 owners and from what I can piece together this car spent most of its life in Alabama. The last time the car was tagged was in 2006. The car appears to be set up with the intent of either Pro Street or Pro Touring because it has been tubed, 4pt roll bar, frame connectors, narrowed rear frame rails and an aluminium fuel tank installed. Whoever made the modifications was a professional because it is all nicely done and this is not your amateur modification. Currently the car has a great sounding 351 Cleveland, 4 barrel Edelbrock intake, Holley Performer carburetor and headers. The engine sounds very solid, no knocks, no smoke or anything I can detect that would indicate there is anything wrong. Currently the car has a C6 automatic transmission on the floor and a Ford spooled 9” rear end. Since I've not tagged it all I can tell you the car runs, drives and stops around the shop just fine, just cold blooded. The sheet metal appears to all be original to the car, except the hood that I just replaced because someone gave the original some extra ugly mods. You can find Acapulco blue in inconspicuous spots inside trunk, rockers, trunk lid, door hinges, ect. The interior has been changed to red. I have a matching red rear seat that goes with the car. The dash pad is cracked and not correct with AC outlets. The console does not appear to be correct for a 70. Paint is a twenty footer and this car can be driven as is, but because of the rarity is worthy, needing and deserving of a complete restoration. This car is much better than the typical 40 year old Mustang in regards to rust because there is very little if any in the typical rust spots like floor pans, torque boxes, inner aprons, rockers all appear solid. There’s some bubbled rust in the bottom corners of the rear window. I can identify a couple of spots where the car has had rust repaired on one rear quarter, the right door, taillight panel and under the battery tray. The door handles have been shaved, but I’ve collected some donor door metal to return to stock handles. For an additional $2,500 (not included in this auction) I can include a complete Pro Street rear end. Narrowed 9” rear end with wheels, tires, spool, axles ready to go Pro Street without much effort it can be easily done and if interested I can send pics. The car comes with the Marti report which matches the dash VIN and the VIN under the fenders. Just try to find an affordable real 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1 Mustang that you can drive today! The car comes with a bill of sale and a clear title. I highly recommend that you come see the car or have someone inspect it for you. If you have any questions please contact me because I don’t want any non paying bidders nor an unhappy buyer. Terms of sale are $500 (only) non refundable Paypal deposit within 24 hours of close of auction and the balance in cash (preferred), certified bank check or money order within 5 days of auction. I can store the car for a couple of weeks allowing time for payment and transportation arrangments. THX.
