Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this absolutely beautiful, one-family-owned 1986 Monte Carlo SS. Here's the story on this car, per the previous owner.... This car was purchased new by his mother. She pampered this car and only managed to put 32K miles on it until she passed away in 2004. She kept it in great running order, the car was always garaged, the oil was changed on a regular basis (documentation to confirm), and she did not drive it during the winter. The car lived its entire life in the Toledo, OH area, but does not have the rust that would generally be associated with northern cars, which I believe would be the case if the car was garaged and not driven during the winter. The son then inherited the car from his mother and re-titled it in his name at 32K miles. I have a copy of the title that shows the car passing from her estate to him. He then put the remaining miles on it to get it to 55K plus. I purchased the car from the son, who with two young children, did not have the time nor the energy to devote to the car, so reluctantly sold it. The car has its original drivetrain, cold ac, power windows, am/fm cassette and power locks. The power locks worked when I picked the car up, but currently are not working. The previous owner told me that two areas of the car were repainted when his mother had the car, 1) the hood as a result of a broken/fallen tree limb that scratched it, and 2) the driver's door as the result of a child's bicycle handlebar scratch. Both repairs where done by the dealer's body shop. The repairs look fine to me and are consistent with a car that is 24 years old. This car also includes some original paperwork from when it was new and even has the original key fob (pictured). Some of you old school guys will remember that dealers use to issue a key fob with every new car and had a dealer assigned serial number associated with it so that if you lost your keys, the finding party could just drop them in any mailbox, and the keys would go back to General Motors. GM would then look up the designated serial number on the key fob and send them back to the dealer, who would in turn get them back to owner of the car. Pretty cool piece of history. When I took possession of the car I immediately had it tuned up, serviced, and fully detailed. That's it. This is just a fantastic "CarFax Clean" 1986 Monte Carlo SS that can be yours at an affordable price. Good luck bidding and get ready to have some great summer time cruising and car show fun. LEGAL STUFF Please keep in mind you are bidding on a 24-year-old car. They aren't perfect and you should expect some normal wear. This car is sold "AS IS" and does not have a warranty of any kind. I do not have a personal history with this car so pre-inspections are always recommended. You are bidding to own this car. Winning bidder does not have the right to inspect car after purchase and decline the purchase. You have entered into a binding agreement to buy the car by bidding on it through ebay. Title is clear and in hand. Car and Title will be released to the new owner as soon as cash money or clear funds have changed hands, no exceptions. Thanks.
