Vehicle Detail
This car is ready for cruising. It gets lots of attention where ever I go, lots of thumbs up, and just a joy to drive. I was preparing to make this car Tyrol Blue, but the nutcase in the White House took more taxes from me than I had anticipated, so I need the money. I bought this car last year for $17000. I don't think the seller was deliberately deceitful, but he left out a few details that should have reduced my purchase price. I have since spent at least $5000 preparing to make this a daily driver. But I am asking less because I'm a bit desperate. I will attempt to be as accurate as possible, but please forgive me for not knowing some details, as I don't know that much about cars other than the fact that I really love them. There is bondo, there are some rust spots. I was preparing get all the bondo smoothed out and re done, some rust removed, and a new paint job, but like I said that Obamanation in the White House robbed me of that opportunity this year. The top goes up and down manually. There is a motor, and you can hear it run, but it needs new fluid hoses. The left rear window needs a new regulator. The original radio is in there, but doesn't function. There is a new radio mounted in place of the glove box, which I have not removed for fear of cutting the wrong wires. I'm still working on replacing some of the light bulbs so that it lights up inside. The chrome on several pieces should be redone. I tried to redo the dash, and bought some of the more expensive replacement pieces. It looks really good for the most part, but it wasn't quite a perfect fit and the stuff is so thick, I have to do some adjusting to get the column compartment door to close. There is a piece of paint missing from the right rear panel, a result of the idiot shippers, some guy and his team all named Mohammed...my bad for choosing low cost open container. It will likely need a new trunk floor, as the gas tank is currently incorrectly attached. Now for the good stuff. This is not anywhere close to a show car, but it is an attention getter. About 90% of the car is covered by very thick high shine paint. I have not driven the car once, without getting at least one compliment somewhere, before coming home. The car was originally canary yellow, but the guy who sold it to me did a pretty good job of getting everything red. I sent the car to my mechanic to get rid of seven different fluid leaks, including the brakes. He succeeded, but there still is one drop about every month. He claims all cars this old have some kind of leak somewhere. The engine is a 400 bored to 461. I had a new Holley carburetor installed, and my mechanic recommended a new electronic ignition. The tach is cool but we didn't have time to get it working. Once it's warm, this car runs very smoothly. It is reliable enough to be a daily driver. It has disc brakes on the front. I have matching locks I haven't installed yet. I also replaced all the rubber on the convertible top. It will also come with the convertible boot, which hides the top if you don't have time to work on it. Overall, I want to keep working on this car, but I can't. My loss, your gain. It is ready for inspection anytime with 24 hours notice. I am very proud of this car, and I don't want to sell it for so cheap, but times are tough, and I have no choice. I will try to post questions and answers so that all may benefit from information gathering. Again, I'm not a car expert, but I am honest. Thanks for your bids.
