I purchased this vehicle just over a year ago from the original owner, an elderly woman. She and her husband retired in 1989, and purchased this for their retirement vehicle. I worked with the son of the couple, and he told me about the vehicle. His mom was selling the car after his dad had passed away. The vehicle was purchased new from Cook Chrysler Plymouth in Chicopee MA. The couple then retired and brought the vehicle to outer Cape Cod where they only drove it in nice weather. I have owned four of these cars. I can tell you that this vehicle is in unbelievable condition. No disappointments here. There are very minimal dings, just the ones from being owned by an elderly couple. Two or three small dimple size dings throughout the body that are barely noticeable. There is one @ 3 inch scratch on the hood (see pic) easily touched up.The interior is like new, however the ceiling fabric is hanging slightly. There are no rips in the fabric behind the driver and front passenger, which is where you normally find wear on the interior of these vehicles. The car has 39770 original miles on it. The vehicle still has the original factory installed GoodYear Arriva tires and spare with a decent amount of tread left. The tires have the wide white walls. The vinyl roof is perfect. All lights function properly, including the opera lamps on both sides of the vinyl roof. There is no rust or rot on this Fifth Avenue. I have a copy of the original title from the lady I purchased it from. The interior leather is stunningly perfect and original. Never smoked in. Never used to transport pets. This is the first year that the driver airbag was standard, and the last year of the full size V-8 rear wheel drive Fifth Avenue. The car has the top of the line stereo/radio with cassette. Also has overhead compass, temp gauge.I have put just over 1,000 miles on the vehicle since acquiring it just over a year ago. Why am I selling it? I wish I could keep it, however after much contemplation, I think it is best to pass it on to someone who can fully enjoy it for what it is. I have limited time to drive it, and all I do is worry that my children will scratch it. I have not driven the car in winter, or even rain. It has been stored in my garage, and driven on occasion to keep it running properly. One thing I did want to mention is that the passenger window switches do not put the passenger windows down. The switches on the driver's door puts those windows down, so I believe a new window lock switch on the driver's door will fix the problem. No problem at all with any of the window motors. Should be a cheap and easy fix. You will not be dissapointed in the condition of this vehicle. It has been pampered by it's first owner, and me.
