1984 Mercedes Benz 380 SL - 2-Tops - Arizona Car - WOW! An unbelievable find! Here is a drop dead gorgeous, 1984 Mercedes Benz 380SL Convertible that has spent most, if not all of it's life in sunny and dry Arizona and it shows! I am selling this car for a Doctor friend of mine who has run out of space due to a divorced daughter moving back in with all her possessions and there is no garage space left. He hates to see it go, but also will not subject it to the blazing Arizona sun and leave it parked outside! It's time to let someone else enjoy his baby! His loss is your gain! All the sheet metal appears to be original to this car and there is no sign of any prior accident history. The underside is untouched original and while it has never been detailed for show, it is driver quality and what you see is what you've got! This is absolutely a 100% rust free body! There are no patches or replaced panels and no attempts to hide or cover anything up. The body is straight as an arrow and all the body lines and gaps are even and in alignment! The original color is a very elegant Pewter Grey and it has had just one repaint since new. It was a high caliber paint job that was color sanded, buffed and polished to a high luster! Special care was taken to maintain the original finish in the door jambs and on the underside of the deck lid with no overspray evident and it looks great! All the chrome and stainless trim is in beautiful original condition with high gloss and shine and minimal scuffs or marks. The glass is all in nice condition. The Black canvas convertible top was installed in '07 and still looks like new! Upon close inspection, this car definitely has all the appearances of a garaged, pampered and properly cared for car its' entire life! The interior of this Classy Mercedes is in virtually untouched original condition and still looks exceptionally sharp for it's age. The seats, door panels and carpets are in great condition! The dash is beautiful and the gauges are clean and bright. The owner assures me that all the gauges and components are in working order with the exception of the cruise control. The air conditioning blows Ice Cold and all the power options are in correct working order. Mechanically, this is an exceptional running and driving Mercedes and it is a Blast to drive! It had a complete new engine installed at 60,000 miles as well as a new remanufactured Factory transmission at 82,000 miles. In the last 4 years it has had new belts, hoses, water pump, master cylinder, radio, power antenna, brakes and rotors, lower 'A' frame bushings, front shocks, 02 sensor, a new battery and a front end alignment. The brakes stop on a dime and the rear end is quiet. It is obvious that this was going to be a keeper for many years and no expense was spared in maintaining it! He has receipts to the mid 90's. This 380 SL is truly a pleasure to drive and should be able to be driven any place you want to go!
