All electric (NO GAS) 156 volt 1999 Solectria Force with Saft water cooled NiCD batteries http://www.saftbatteries.com/MarketSegments/Industrialothervehicles/tabid/148/Language/en-US/tabid/293/TypeControl/Produit/ProduitId/44/Default.aspx . One of only a handful of Forces made with NiCD batteries giving the car not only longer range, but batteries with a longer life span. The range of the car is roughly twice that of the lead acid Force and Solectria states that the car has a maximum range of 90 miles, but 50 to 70 is a more realistic target depending on how the car is driven and driving conditions. The car features an AC motor with a single speed gearbox (so there is no shifting of gears) , strong regenerative braking and a top speed of 65mph. The options include air conditioning, electric heat as well as a diesel heater (for those really cold days), keyless entry with remote trunk release, CD changer and split rear folding seats. I bought the car used in April of 2003 from, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority with 6049 miles on it and it now has 29,377. I am selling the car because I already own 5 other electric vehicles and simply can't drive them all. The car is in good running condition and the batteries are strong, however, it does make a groaning noise as it accelerates and decelerates thru 30 to 35 mph. This sound has been with the car since I got it and it hasn't caused any problems or gotten any worse over the years. Motor and gearbox bearings were replaced a couple of years ago, but did not change the noise. Although I tested the heater during this past Winter, it has not been used much at all over the seven years I have owned the car so it may need a little care to function at its best. As you would expect with an 11 years old car there are some minor scratches mainly on the bumpers, but no dents. The car is being sold AS IS with no warranty.
