Vehicle Detail
1975 Cadillac Hearse. The car runs and drives. I orginally bought it to restore it, but it needs alot of work so I've just decided to sell it rather than have it sitting around on my property. It runs well but needs some work. I have to jump start it and it takes awhile for the battery to charge, so it definately needs a new battery. It sat for awhile before I bought it, so the transmission seal leaks. I started the car and moved it 2 weeks ago and noticed that gas was leaking from underneath near the engine, so I'm going to assume that one of the fuel lines has rusted. The interior isn't in that bad of shape. The guy that I bought it from added a radio, but he didn't do that great of a job of installing it. The area where the casket is held is in pretty good shape. The curtains have some stains, but the velvet seems to be in useable condition. The rockers are rusted through in most areas and there is a hole in the floor board. The car only has 65,000 miles, but it's a midwestern car from Ohio so it's definately got some rust. The vinyl roof is in alright shape but you can see some spots where it is rusting underneath. I'm not sure which number of owner I am or how long the car was actually in use with the funeral home. The guy that I bought it from had had it for a number of years. He was an older guy, but he mounted some skulls on the hood and had a homemade coffin in the back. I cleared all of that garbage out though. Not a perfect car, but I'd say it's restoreable or you can just take it out and use it in a demolition derby. I wouldn't recommend driving it home if you live a long distance with the fuel and transmission seal leak. So I'd bring along a trailer.
