Vehicle Detail

Photos added. Also note: This is a Bill Blass edition Mark VII. There is no moon roof. Original radio has been replaced. Trunk is ajar but seals and is water tight (see photo). Here's the story regarding the vehicle: I purchased this vehicle in excellent condition with just over 40,000 original miles. I had new brakes and tires put on and had the exhaust system repaired. I made the mistake of giving the vehicle to my inept son-in-law who owned it for approximately 9 months. He evidently ran the engine low on oil and never changed the oil since I gave it to him. When he notified me the engine was knocking it was too late. When I took the vehicle back I found the trunk had been damaged from putting something too large in it and the automatic draw-down trunk bent. It is water tight though and easily repaired. I also found he had evidently scraped the passenger side on something. (see photo). He also replaced the original radio! Obviously I was steamed to the max since I cherish the Mark VII and hate to see one abused. I nearly lived in a Mark VII for 12 years having owned a 1985 and a 1987 LSC. I took this vehicle back from him on a title only and stored it in my barn out of the weather. Now I simply need more room in my barn. The person I purchased it from had installed a built-in radar detector that works great. For sale is a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII w/ 5.0 HO V8. The engine has a thrown rod. Tires are nearly new with less than 10,000 miles. It has been stored inside. Some minor body damage from a scrape on the side. Could be easily restored to original condition. 56,750 original miles. $300 Deposit required from successful bidder. Pick up only or seller will assist in making arrangements to ship vehicle. The vehicle is not operative and is sold in "as is" condition. Exhaust and brake systems are in excellent condition. Photos will be available soon.On Jun-01-10 at 09:15:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: I hooked up a spare battery this morning and here's what I found. 1) The odometer reading is actually 55203 rather than 56750. Not a lot of difference but wanted to note it. I evidently just added 10000 to the reading on the title from my son-in-law and guessed slightly high when I did. 2) The electronics seem to be working fine and the keyless entry works fine. 3) The air ride suspension pump would not engage and is apparently frozen after having been stored for 2 years. 4) I started the engine. It idled very rough for a few minutes with no knocking. When it warmed up it began to knock fairly loudly. It seemed like the knock was coming more from the upper engine on the driver side rather than from a thrown connecting rod. It could be a stuck valve that's the problem. Happy bidding and I welcome any additional questions you may have. END UPDATE
