Generations of Americans fell in love with Corvette’s Stingray body style over almost twenty years as Chevrolet marked the 1980 model’s introduction with their last statement on the iconic shark. For two years we have lovingly cared for and preserved this exceptionally optioned and well preserved 1980 Corvette. Please enjoy the pictures and video of this attractive classic American original. Exterior Bearing a solid chassis from the western U.S., this clean shark enjoys new two stage lacquer paint buffed to a high gloss on very straight bodylines and possibly what appears to us as a no-hit body. Some of the weather strip has been replaced and the rest of it still feels soft to the touch. The brand new white letter BF Goodrich Radial TA tires rest on the factory optioned set of beautifully polished slotted aluminum wheels. The paint shop forgot to reinstall the new rubber air dam for the front and the spare tire carrier both of which will be put back on the car before delivery. The headlights and wipers are fully functional. Interior The reproduction carpet, seat covers, door panels, dash and steering wheel are all restored and looking beautiful. We have replaced the seat belt webbing with new material. All of the gauges are functional and the new CD stereo sounds great. The striking upgraded interior and the power door locks have been restored to active operational status. The rear compartment doors are functional but do not work like new. Everything works except for the clock. We have ordered replacement vents and a replacement glove box door knob for the dash that will also be installed before the new owner takes delivery because this interior is comfortable and clean. Mechanical The original numbers matching 350 cubic inch motor rests beautifully detailed in the original motor compartment; looking as sweet as she runs harnessed by the rebuilt factory automatic transmission. Developing more horsepower than issued from the factory, this shark feels good behind the gas pedal. We just had the heads rebuilt with new valve stem seals. The brakes have been rebuilt together with the emergency brake hardware to make everything functional. Exceptional attention to detail was made over the past year bringing her into her current state of exceptional beauty. Suspension components requiring attention were replaced as necessary. The Air Conditioning is complete but will need a recharge which we can assist with. The A/C system received a major overhaul with mostly new components many years back and was regularly serviced thereafter. When we ordered the replacement vents for the dash we also ordered another baffle for the air cleaner in the motor compartment. The exhaust was replaced by the previous owner and sounds great.
