1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel 4-Dr Sedan - Arizona Car - No Reserve! Here is an exceptionally sharp and rust free, 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel 4-Dr Sedan that has spent most, if not all, of its' life in sunny and dry Arizona and it shows! Just before the start of the 1979 model year, Mercedes introduced the 300SD Turbo Diesel sedan on a 112.8 inch wheelbase. The 300SD was powered by a more potent version of the five-cylinder engine, initially rated at 110 horsepower. Acceleration to 60 mph took less than 14 seconds! This unique car was part of a nine car collection that we recently purchased from a gentleman who ran into a serious financial situation and had to sell all of his 'babies'! This particular car was his daily driver and he stated that it is an excellent running and economical Mercedes-Benz that has had a small modification that makes it perform much better than normal SD's did! The VIN is: 116 120 12 014328 Model # 116 The odometer Reading is: 113,054 miles (believed to be original but no verification) The body and sheet metal on this Classic Mercedes is absolutely as rock solid and rust free as you would expect an Arizona car to be! I have crawled under it and thru it and the body appears to be absolutely rock solid. I couldn't find any rust anyplace! The floor pans, trunk floor, fenders, and inner and outer rockers are all original with no patches or replaced sheet metal of any kind! Other than a small crease or dent, down low on the right rear quarter, the body is very straight. It doesn't appear to have had any prior accident history and the sheet metal appears to be all original to this car. The bumpers are straight and rust free. The original paint color is White and it appears to have most, if not all of its' original paint that is in great condition! There is a stone bruise in the windshield and the other glass is in good condition. There are a few pieces of trim missing off the grill and one fog light needs a lens. The tires are like new, Pirelli P195/70R14 radial tires. The interior is actually in very nice original condition as my photos show. The car has probably been stored inside for most of its' life because the vinyl and leather components are still rather soft and supple. There is a little wear on the front seats, primarily in the form of color worn off the leather. There are several cracks in the dash pad and the gauges are clean and bright and all the chrome is in great shape. The headliner, carpets and door panels are very nice. This interior is in excellent condition! Mechanically, it appears to be in great condition and it has the look of a car that has been methodically and religiously maintained and cared for its' entire life! The engine runs great and it drives very well! The transmission shifts as it should and the brakes and exhaust appear to be in good condition. The air conditioning blows cold and the power windows all work great. The Alpine AM FM CD Receiver sounds great and the power antenna still works!
