Vehicle Detail

1967 AMC RAMBLER REBEL SST CONVERTIBLE THIS IS A RARE FIND FOR ALL YOU COLLECTORS! CLEAR TITLE-MY LOSS YOUR GAIN! THIS CAR IS LOADED WITH FACTORY A/C, POWER WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS, AND A POWER TOP! During the 1967 model year, American Motors produced a total of 1,686 Rambler Rebel convertibles, all in the top-trim SST model. Automatic power operation of top was standard. The new convertible top design featured a "streamlined" look blending smoothly with the lower body with the top up. Its new "split stack" folding mechanism also allowed a lower stack height with the top folded down, as well as for a full-width backseat with room for three passengers. HISTORY: I found this car in a shed about 6 years ago, and bought it from a lady that had owned it for many years with her deceased husband. She told me it had been parked for about 10 years at that point. I believe they bought it from the original owner, which should make me the third owner of this car. It would take very little to restore this classic, but I dont have the time. Also, I no longer have a place to store it, and dont want to pay for storage every month. CONDITION: The car is in really great shape with a relatively small amount of surface rust. I also have some NOS parking and turn signal lenses for the car. Overall, this would be an easy restoration project. ENGINE: The factory 290 CID (4.8 L) 290 produced 200 to 225 hp (149 to 168 kW) with a 2V and 4V carburetor, respectively. It was built from the mid-1966 model year through the 1969 model year. It has a 3.75-inch bore (95.25 mm) and 3.28-inch (83.31 mm) stroke. The transmission is the only thing that I did not get with the car, but the engine is complete. FYI: This is a very late built car, one of the last 1967 convertibles built. It was built in the first 2 weeks of July 1967, and they built 67 rebel convertibles in that month. I have been informed that this is the possibly highest numbered 1967 rebel convertible still in existence. The engine tag says the engine was built on July 5th, 1967, so the car had to be built after that. THE DOOR TAG READS: W148799 BODY: R043382 MODEL: 6717-7 THE ENGINE TAG READS: 907H05 SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY! FEEL FREE TO SEND ME A MESSAGE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ME AN OFFER ON THIS RARE PIECE OF AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR HISTORY.
