Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1983, Porsche 928S with auto transmission. It is clean, inside and out. The paint is, original Porsche #662 Rosewood Quartz Metallic. It was an optional color that didn't come on many 928s, but is very easy on the eye and makes the car look very classy. The interior is black and has been recently redone, quite nicely. I don't want to overstate anything here, or imply this is a Pebble Beach Grand Concourse show car . It's just a nice example of a 27 year old classic, which drives well, has had most things tended to, and could be further enhanced, if you so desire. The paint, while original, has I'm sure, been redone in places, some perfectly, some less so, but very presentable. The engine hood, for instance, isn't quite up to the shine of the front fenders- that kind of thing. It has A few body chips, some chips on the rubber bumpers, and touch up spots on the body edging. The seats were redone nicely before I bought it and are quite good looking and comfy. Nice mats. Original carpeting otherwise, which is mostly fine, some fading in other parts. The dash and glove box were horrible when I got it. Bad overlay, warped, cracked, glove box misshapen and leather torn. I redid both, spent an lot of time, did it carefully allowing for adequate expansion, etc. I completely rebuilt the glove box and releathered it. It all looks great now. I replaced the existing radio/CD which skipped constantly with a new Pioneer radio/CD which plays great FM and is very solid playing CDs when driving over rough roads. All instrument Guages work, A/C, lights, wipers, rear wiper work. Engine runs great, starts easily, does't overheat. Trans shifts through all gears properly. Brakes working fine, no squealing, or fading, but I don't drive it hard. There are a few things that could still be done: The multi switch which controls turn signal, wipers, washer, and cruise control turns the signals on fine, but does not turn them off after a turn. The wipers work, intermittant works, washer does not, criuse control does not. A new OEM multi switch online is $182 including shipping, just for your info. The A/C blows cool, the heat blows hot, the econ blows outside air and the blower works on all speeds, but the auto temp control does not mix the cold and hot air to autocontrol the inside temp. It has a new Die Hard International Battery. (The charging system works fine.) Pirelli tires have a lot of tread. I was going to continue to drive it and a work on it a little at a time, but my wife recently learned she needs a hip replacement. It hurt her to get into our new BMW X-5, so last week I traded it in for a pre owned certiifed BMW 7 series which is easier for her to enter/exit and and adjust for comfort. Now I don't even want to suggeest to her that we take a spin in the 928, so I end up driving around alone- which would be O.K if I were 25, but not at my age. I would rather sell it now, so someone can enjoy a full season of nice Porsche driving weather. Reserve is low. Good luck bidding. Any questions send me your questions through ebay, I'll answer, and if you need a call back leave me you number. Thanks, Bob
