Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a rare and wonderful Survivor 1983 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Diesel. I purchased this car off of Ebay a few years back and am still amazed at the originality of this vehicle. The body still has its original paintwork of light yellow and is straight with no rust that I was able to find anywhere. There are a few chips but for being almost 30 years old just amazing. I had the intentions of converting this 350 diesel motor to run on Biofuel. I purchased and installed; 2 new Sears Batteries, New Waterpump & radiator serviced, All Filters were replaced, Oil changed, New Glow Plugs and all Belts were replaced. This is were I stopped. The car drove into my shop but I lost steam and didn't get around to finishing the job. The car will need to be towed because I didn't purge the fuel system after replacing the filters. I stopped here because my next step was the conversion to run on bio waste oil. The motor is still in its stock configuration and can still be made road worthy with a fuel system service of purging the air out for the fuel injection system. With gas prices going up again this would make a stylish green mode of transportation. The car is loaded with accessories; it comes with the beautiful Biarritz Stainless Steel Top and functioning See through Moon Roof, Heated mirrors, AM/FM, Cruise Control, tow hitch and lighted vanity mirrors in both visors. This was fully loaded. The interior is original brown leather. There is is tear on the side of the drivers seat. The dash has some sun damage cracks. The headliner needs some glue to get it back in shape and also has a sliding partition to cover the moon roof if the sun is bothering you. Seems like most of the electrics are functioning as they should be. To be honest with you I didn't drive the car to much, just around the neighborhood before I started to work on it. The gent I bought it from said that he used it as a daily driver before he decided to sell it and I can believe him after my short rides in the car. The motor and trans were working well. The car is showing its age but is presentable with a good cleanup and detail, especially for its age. The exterior padded top is cracking and it is missing 1 hubcap. I have full service manual and electrical schematics from Cadillac that come with the Biarritz. Has a clean Colorado title. I still would love to finish this one but have to many projects that need my attention. This is a great project for someone who would love to ride in a classic Eldorado for nothing, on waste oil, being part of the solution not the problem. Car shipping is responseability of auction winner. I will be happy to help in any way I can. Please ask questions if you are interested. I will answer and post all queries. Caddy is a used vehicle and sold as is no refunds. On May-23-10 at 10:13:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question from Charles asking if this car had a GM Goodwrench replacement motor in it. He told me to look for a decal on the doorpost or the engine. Nothing on the doorpost but I did find a small piece of decal on the driver side valve cover. It has some numbers on top and what might be a portion of bar code on the bottom half. I have included a picture of what is left of the decal. If anyone out there can ID what this decal is I would love to know and post it here for all.
