This is a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu LS with 143,000 miles. It is Dark Teal Green Metallic with a Tan cloth interior. The body is nice and would look great with a full detailing. There is some rust on the right quarter panel near the gas filler door.
The interior is in good condition and features front buckets with console and floor mounted shifter. Options include power windows/locks, tilt wheel, cruise control and a CD player. The upholstery is not badly worn, just in need of a good scrubbing and detailing. There are no smoke or pet odors, the lighter looks to have never been used.
The powertrain is a 3100 V6 engine backed by an automatic transaxle driving the front wheels.
All four tires are good, but do not match. LF: Cooper 11/32", LR: Cooper 5/32", RF: Goodyear 8/32", RR:Cooper 5/32". All are mounted on the original alloy rims that are somewhat corroded from brake dust.
We did send this Malibu through our shop for a basic safety check and service. Our technician found the following issues; front end is loose and needs sway bar bushings/links, lower control arm bushings and ball joints. The left front hub bearing is worn, rear brakes are noisy and air conditioning is working intermittantly. The oil and filter was changed and all fluids were checked and topped off as needed.
If you are handy, this would make a great car for you. There is plenty of life left in this old Malibu, it is just waiting for some repairs to be a reliable car again.
The Carfax report is clean with no collision history. We do not subscribe to other history reporting agencies so we base our info on the accuracy of Carfax.
