1977 Volvo 242 High-def pics can be found at the attached link: http://picasaweb.google.com/Webb.Moncure/Volvo24202# This 1977 Volvo 242 was shipped from the West Coast in October / November 2009, and as such is a rust free all-original example of one of the most famous cars in Volvo's line up. It has 74,000 original miles, and over $1,200 in preventative maintenance receipts from the last four months. It passed Virginia inspection in November 2009 and needs almost nothing other than a new driver. Small bugs - it ain't perfect - but extremely original and has a great finish, and probably the best all-original 4-speed manual 242 of this vintage in the country. Hard to find one like this, let alone one like this in ready-to-drive condition. I've logged about 6,000 miles since November working out all of the bugs. Either drive as is, or tweak it that final bit to make it a show car. These rust like swiss cheese in a salty east coast climate - this one is a well preserved and daily-driveable west coast example. Keep it in the garage and roll on! This has a new timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, cat-back exhaust, all fluids, all hoses and belts, cap, rotor, and plugs, and will come washed with a full tank of gas. All parts are OEM or better installed by Volvo experts. This car does not leak a drop or burn any oil whatsoever. Drive it from Virginia to Patagonia and it will probably make it. I highly encourage you to take a look at the link to photos. This comes with a 4-speed standard transmission. No overdrive was offered in this model year. Also, this came stock without AC.
