Vehicle Detail

Uncle Bruno who is no longer with us picked up his 72 blazer fromLustine Chevrolet in Hyattsville maryland on june 5th 1972. He drove it 130,000 miles and used it for fishing trips and pulled a small pop tent behind it that he slept in. Bruno got older and no longer could drive so in 1988 his nephew had aquired it. It was driven back from out east and was going to be restored. Fast forward to 2010. The nephew had started a restoration which involved cutting away rust but never getting to them. The old pieces go with the truck as do some new rocker panels. The truck was taken apart never to be touched again. I aquired the truck, put most of it together and got it to run with a new battery and fresh gas! That's all it took. Original engine sounds great and does not make noise. The truck has typical blazer rust in the rockers, floors near the rockers, the tail area and doors. Frame is solid as is tailgate, hood, and fenders. Fiberglass top is a single wall version and some small cracks were taken care of. I have all the rear lift hatch hardware but it is not installed. Hinges work good holding it up though. Truck is equipped as the glove box sticker shows. It has a/c which has not been tested but is all there, power brakes, steering, tilt wheel and luggage rack for the top. The interior is a rare orange plaid and it is in perfect condition!!!! All the trim is there as is the rear glass and windshield. The truck will move under its own power but there are no working brakes. I have not gone into it and i believe after some attention to the brakes the truck would be a good driver. This is an unmolested vehicle worth saving with its highly desireable white and orange color combination. No need to search out all the original parts as they are there already. The spare tire is even the original kelley springfield with tire stud holes punched into them on the original tire rack. according to condition and what the interior alone is worth. Most truck vendors that also restore these get $1500-1800 alone for recovered buckets and a console, not to mention what the back seat and door panels are worth. Truck retains its original manuals, protecto plate and handwritten price sheet showing the truck was over $5000 new. Any or all questions please call jason @ 414-688-0604. Thanks for looking. Truck is for sale as is locally and auction may end at any time. link to hear engine run...http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p45/jstrits/1963%20impala/?action=view¤t=72blazer037.flv
