Here is a good little first car for that new driver or a perfect station vehicle for a commuter.
This is a 1999 Saturn SL2 with 130,000 miles. The exterior is Silver Metallic and looks good, not great. The paint could use a good buffing, but there is peeling paint on the door frame tops and scratches on the roof panel.
The interior is grey cloth featuring front bucket seats with a center console. The seat upholstery and carpets are soiled, but should respond to a good scrubbing. The biggest problem with the interior is the headliner, it must be replaced. The fabric is hanging from the roof and it looks bad and actually hits your head when sitting in the car. This Saturn does have power windows and locks, a feature not usually found on economy cars. The air conditioning is working and there is a CD player for handling the audio chores.
Under the hood is a 1.9 DOHC fuel injected engine that will keep you away from gas stations. It is backed by an automatic transaxle driving the front wheels.
All four tires are matching Goodyear radials evenly worn to 8/32" tread. They are mounted upon the factory alloy rims.
We did send this Saturn through our service department for a basic safety check and no major issues were reported. The front brakes are at 8mm, rears are at 3mm and will need replacement soon. The keyless remote does not work and as mentioned the headliner is hanging. The left rear window is not functional, it may be a motor or possibly a switch. We did perform an oil change and checked all the fluids and topped them off as needed.
