This is a 1949 Willys Jeepster that has been in the same family since 1964. It is a 4 cylinder model with 3 speed manual transmission and overdrive. The OD works but needs a new cable to be functional. The brakes and front end have been rebuilt in the last few years and it drives out and stops very well. The body was recently repainted with a "driver" quality paint job, covering over a small amount of bondo on the passenger side rocker. The Jeepster looks great now but a real close inspection will reveal some imperfections. The top and side curtains are in great shape and the original glass rear window is fair, but intact. The seats have been recovered in brown corduroy and look great. Floor pans are solid. Engine runs smooth and starts right up everytime, no smoke. This Jeepster looks and runs great but is NOT show quality. Please do not bid on this thinking it is a 100 point refurbished vehicle. It has been gone through mechanically and made to look good as a driver vehicle. I have a clear title for it and some additional manuals, etc. On May-15-10 at 05:28:27 PDT, seller added the following information: The mileage listed as 100 is, of course, not accurate. The odometer/speedometer has not worked in quite a while so the mileage is unknown. I have not checked out the speedo cable yet , but I am sure that is all that is wrong. The rest of guages work fine, including the gas guage. The gas tank had been removed, cleaned and sealed a few years ago, too. Please understand that this Jeepster looks great but is not "show" quality. On May-15-10 at 05:31:50 PDT, seller added the following information: One more thing, the tires are fairly new 15" radials on the stock rims. The spare tire is original size though. This vehicle is too special for me to waste my time on if you don't intend on following through with the sale.
