PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLACING BIDS OR ASKING QUESTIONS TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION.HEY THANX...MOTOGROTTO...THE BMW BOXER AIRHEAD RESTORATION STATION...SPECIALIZING IN PEACE OF MIND AND PURE MOTORCYCLING SATISFACTION EASTON PA 18040 610-749-0747. 1978 R100/7 52,140 miles recently acquired from 2nd owner Mr. Clean Machine.Classic black metallic original paint on tank and fenders with the gold striping which is worn away in some areas.Sidecovers have been painted straight black.Speedometer odometer tach and all lights function properly.Decent tires this bike is in excellent mechanical condition,ready to go go go.There are a lot of scratches on the tank that do not show up well in the pix and the tank could use a paint job so please look at ALL PHOTOS, however there is not a ding or dent on the bodywork of tank fenders and sidecovers.The reserve is low enough to compensate for the paint flaws on the tank.This is a really nice BMW airhead from back in the day,single disc up front,drum in the back,simple and effective.The bags are in excellent shape and have safety bungees to make sure they dont eject in mid flight as they often do on these oldies.The bags and racks are off the bike now and are included in the auction.The bike has matching #'s.Tool kit and manual included. The bike runs very strong and handles quite well.The exhaust is also excellent.Bike has Dyna III electronic ignition.Not a show bike but very nice,kept in complete climate control atmosphere.One of BMW's finest models of the time. This bike is equipped with a big boy suspension,heavy duty Koni's in the back and progressive springs in the front with the appropriate spacer making it about an inch or so taller than normal.So if you are short you would have to address the suspension by removing the spacers and putting stock or short shocks on.The seat is in great shape and has the Airhead club seat mod done to it which allows you to remove the seat straight up without taking a side bag off by means of an extra post and removed hinges. PLEASE DO NOT call me and ask me what I want for the bike or to end the auction early as many already have.That is never going to happen.Here at MOTOGROTTO I will never end an auction early.Once the reserve is met the bike will go to the high bid at the auctions end.All bids are appreciated and rest assured if you have bid on this bike it will run to the end.This is the only way to preserve the integrety of an auction.If you read my feedback it is quite clear.If you are serious about this machine just bid.It's as simple as that.
