Vehicle Detail
Up for sale here is a dear old friend of mine... Starting with the drivetrain, it has a good-running 305 engine with a high performance cam. The cam gives it kind of a "lopy" idle, but really screams when you drop the hammer. It does have headers, and the dual exaust is solid and ready to go. It has a Turbo 400 transmission with a shift kit, although I was never really a big fan of the shift kit to be perfectly honest. Maybe you are. I can't remember what the rear axle is, but it is geared very low. The wheels have less than 100 miles on them and are in perfect condition. The tires are good, I'd say they are at about 60% or so to be on the conservative side. The brakes are functional and are as good and 4 wheel drum brakes can be. You older fellas know what I mean. Next the frame and body... This truck came from Arizona about 12 years ago, since then it never saw snow or salt. For many years it was stored indoors, however for the last 3 years it has been stored outside in my driveway. The only rust is on the rocker panels, which should be easy to repair. The rest of the body, the cab, the front clip, and the box are solid. The frame is rock-solid, no worries. It could probably use a paint job, but if you really hit it hard with some good carnuba wax, the son of a gun really shines up pretty good. The only crome on the truck is the bumpers, the front one is original and shows some wear, and the rear one (not pictured) is brand new, never been installed. The only real downer is the tailgate is a little beat up, restorable, openable and closable, but beat up. The interior... I never had a chance to finish the interior, I did purchase a good quality seat cover, but I did not install it very well. Basically, I hit the interior with some white Rustoleum to take care of any surface rust and pretty much left it at that. (I never really wanted it to be a Range Rover) Bottom line: $2000 paint job and $800 complete interior kit from the LMC Truck catalog and you have one heck of a truck. So there you have it, that was my best effort to sell a truck that I don't really want to sell. Please feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns you may have. The winner is responsible for the pick up/transport of the truck. It runs and drives fine, you should be able to drive it anywhere. Also, the truck comes with a spare hood, spare glass, spare heater core, spare window crank mechanisms, spare instrument cluster, and some spare wiring harnesses. It practically comes with a spare truck!
