Vehicle Detail
1986 Volvo 240DL 4speed manual with electric overdrive. This has been mostly my daily driver for the past two years,I trade off with my S70. Engine and transmission are solid,no issues. I have owned several Volvos thru the years and this older 240 ranks much higher than most I have had as far as rust goes. There is one spot in front of the driverside rear wheel that is through. The undercarrige and everywhere else is very good. I replaced the water pump and timing belt at 120K, preventative. Has also had regular oil/filter changes. Air filter, plugs, plug wires cap/rotor done around the same time. I recently replaced the rear calipers/rotors and pads. The car is 24 years old,and there are plenty of little cosmetics here and there, but only three what I would call major issues: Passenger side window is out of the track, you can see in one of the pics. The door panel is also loose. Tires probably due to be replaced, and it definately needs a front end alignment. There is a bad vibration between 40-50 mph. Last is the AC,it will pump cold when charged, but I don't use it. It is not currently inspected, but i drove it up to a week ago because I thought it was good through August instead of March, but it is the S70 that is good through August! Clutch is great, shifts wonderful. Clock works, original radio works, power antenna works, bulb replacement warning light even works! Back up lights are not working and I think it is the switch. Hate to see my mini tank go, but I'm buying a brand new S80, and want to keep the S70. Car is listed locally,so I may end the auction if it sells. Don't bid if you don't have the money. Thanks.
