Up for auction is my truly remarkable 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo. This is the most perfect vehicle in the world in my opinion, and I will explain why. When I set out to buy my next car a few years back, I had a long list of things I wanted in a vehicle. Here is the list: ComfortableNice InteriorManual TransmissionFastGood on GasGood On-roadGood Off-roadSeats at least 4Good Sound SystemDurable/Dependableand Functional Try to find all of that in one vehicle.....The Subaru Baja Turbo is the only vehicle I could find. The Baja is comfortable. It has a wonderful black leather interior which is very classy and tasteful.It consistently gets around 23mpg in mixed driving.It is great on road; especially with the additions on this vehicle. (see below)It is great off road; AWD and good clearance.It has a fabulous stock sound system w/ 6 disc in-dash changer and subwoofer.It is durable/dependable/ and bulletproof. I have owned it for around 50k miles and have never had a single thing go wrong with it. My Baja has been such a joy to own. I hate to sell, but a new baby makes it a good option at this point. If it doesn't sell....great!!, but if it does, I can't wait to buy another one in the future! Honestly. This will be the vehicle I own until I am an old man. The Subaru Baja Turbo is a 4-cylinder horizontally opposed engine w/ a turbo charger. It is not simply the same engine out of a non-turbo Baja w/ a turbo just put on it, it is a completely different engine. The Subaru Baja Turbo uses an engine which is the exact same engine as in the STI, but with a smaller turbocharger and intercooler. You can easily make this Baja much faster than an STI, especially with what's already been done to it. It is a fine shifting 5-speed manual transmission which has been fitted with a Subaru short-shifter kit. Makes shifting much easier and quicker. A normal Subaru Baja Turbo handles great, but this one handles superb!! In addition to the great suspension and chassis that comes w/ any Baja Turbo, this one has many extra elements that make it handle like a go-cart. On all 4 corners, it has Erebuni sport shocks and springs. Front and rear, it has Whiteline swaybars that really keep this Baja flat and planted in the corners. It is a complete joy to drive. Some components of the exhaust system are aftermarket as well. This Baja Turbo has been fitted with a cat-less down-pipe and a large diameter exhaust pipe to the rear of the vehicle. This really helps the exhaust system breathe and greatly improves performance while also improving fuel mileage! With 87,000 miles on this Baja, the engine is almost like it's brand new. With proper and easy maintenance on this vehicle, you can easily expect to hit hundreds of thousands of miles, if not more. The only thing I have done maintenance wise to this Baja is to replace the front-cat O2 sensor at 70,000 miles to ensure that it was operating correctly and giving me the best performance and fuel mileage as it could. I am a BMW Master Technician and take very good care of my vehicles. This one is running a K&N filter and always has its oil changed w/ full synthetic every 3k miles. It has brand new tires within the last couple of hundred miles. The are General Grabber UHP's and are fantastic. They are the same ones I took off. They handle superbly, are always rated extremely high, and last an extremely long time. They were on this Baja when I bought it almost 50,000 miles ago. In addition to just a great vehicle, it also comes with the Subaru driving lights as you see mounted on the roof cross-bars, as well as the bed extender that you see in the pictures. As I just mentioned, it also has the Subaru roof-rack cross-bars. It also has a power sunroof. As far as functionality is concerned, you can absolutely not find a better vehicle than the Baja. You have a sports car w/ a truck bed. It is great and you will be surprised just how much you use the bed. Need a little extra length? The back seat folds up and completely flat, and a partition between the interior of the vehicle and the bed, fold flat into the car to allow you to pass items completely through. It is a great design and you will use it often. It also has a button on the dash which light up the bed. I mention a lot about the extraordinary performance of this Baja Turbo, but I have always treated it exceptionally well. I have never trashed or beaten it and never get anywhere close to redline. Rarely does it even get close to 4,000 rpm's and I have never done a 0-60 run in it. You will be getting a truly wonderful vehicle if you purchase this Baja that will keep its value extremely well. They were only make for a couple years, were dearly loved, and people don't usually let them out of their possession these days once they buy them. I am quite certain you will never come across a Baja as nice as this one for sale in the market. They always get extremely high remarks by the press and by those that own them, so don't let this one go buy. If you purchase it, you will be overjoyed every time you drive it and every time you think of it.
