Vehicle Detail

Sellercore1973 Datsun 240Z Classic I'm Selling my 1973 production date 5/1973 Datsun 240z coupe vin # HLS30159835. The car is an good unrestored driver. This car runs and drives and is currently registered til July 2010. The car has 73.687 miles on the odometer, but I am sure it has rolled over past the mechanical limits. The car is a 6 cylinder L24 engine with a original E-88 cylinder head. This has a 4 speed manual transmission with twin SU carburetors. I purchased the car from a guy who for ten years drove it from Vallejo California to Sacramento as a daily driver. I will take lots of pictures so hopefully they will answer most of your questions! Vehicle is sold “AS-IS“ and as a licensed Dealer, we are required to collect license, tax and doc fees. This car in California requires no smog because of its age. I can be reached at 916-997-7257 Read My Feedback I Strongly urge you to come inspect this vehicle before purchase. All Sales are final. More pictures available at CLICK HERE I have made a you-tube video of this car which can be seen at: Youtube video here Mechanics: Has a six cylinder L-24 with a E88 casting cylinder head. The car has a new 3 core radiator. The car has an original R-180 rear end with 3:36 gear ratio. The car has an original 4 Speed manual transmission. The engine has been compressioned to 1 150 Lbs, 2 140 Lbs, 3 140 Lbs, 4 140 Lbs, 5 140 Lbs, 6 140 Lbs The rear end is a R180 with 3:36 gear ratio. Has Su carburetors with the air cleaner. Exterior: The car is really ugly because the guy that owned it before me had some door guard moldings and a few dings taken out and then just put Grey primer on them. The hood, right fender and the lower valance have been replaced with Genuine Nissan New parts, he did not prep or primer them and they now have surface rust which would easily come off when you restore the car. Has original green (#113 Green like at the following website http://www.zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/index.html) with factory front and rear chrome bumpers. Rust is in several areas of this car and will need some patchwork done to make the car nice. The section under the battery has some rust and needs to be repaired. The frame rails as they attach to the uni body have some dents, probably from floor jacks. I can see some light in a few spots where your feet go so plan on having to patch the floor board. The drivers side seat is loose , so the seat frame probably is bad and in need of replacement. The passenger side floor panel also has some rust forward of the seat mounting. . The spare area has original green paint in it. The battery compartment area does have some rust around the mounting. Surprisingly the trunk area isn't so bad. The trunk area has a few repairable spots of light blistering that could probably mostly be ground down and puttied when you restore the car. The gas tank is straight and the rear lower valance below the taillights is nice and straight. The car has an original metal front engine splash pan ( I have never seen one of these till now. The car still has the hooks that was used to secure it when brought from japan. Tires: The tires have 80 percent tread. Here are some cars painted in this color http://www.zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/113green2.jpg http://www.zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/113_Green_fix.jpg Interior: Has original brown interior in poor condition. Seats - Brown in poor condition Door Panels (Brown color with speaker holes and tears ) Carpet (has wear, but is presentable) Center Console ( has minor cracks) Dash - Dash has cracks (typical of this model year) Rear interior trim panels (Brown color mostly in good condition. one has a small crack on right side.) Has all seat belts and shoulder belts. The door weather stripping that seals the body to the door is non existent and causes the car to rattle as you drive it. I encourage you to come by and look at this thing in person before I waste your time with you expecting this to be something that it isnt. This car is a nice restorable car or a nice driver for someone that understands that it is 40 years old. Call me at 916-997-7257 with any questions. Thank you and good luck. Its long gestation involved US/German designer, Albrecht Graf von Goertz, Yamaha and Toyota, but eventually the Z was launched as the Fairlady in Japan. It had all-independent suspension, a tough, two-seat coupe body and an in-line, single-cam six-cylinder engine. It also looked gorgeous, with a simple styling that was never bettered in the Z-car series that got fatter and less driver focused as the series progressed.
