Here is my 1985 Honda XL 600R.I bought this a little over a year ago with intentions of fixing it up alittle, and keeping it a long time.Well since then i have done quite a bit of work to it. To start off with :: : The engine was totally dismantled,inspected,cleaned. : New Crank,Camshaft,& Wristpin Bearings. : New Rings-(( Motor had 175 lbs. of compression before rebuild )),which is the amount it comes with from the factory. So the cylinder was just honed,the "OEM" piston was cleaned and fitted with new rings,& wrist pin kit. : The cylinder head was cleaned,New Valve Seals,and seats. : Complete Gasket Kit which includes exhaust gaskets. : Complete Oil Seal & O-Ring Kit.(( Includes Oil Pump )) : New Neutral Light Indicator Sensor. : New Moose Racing Stator. ((Has the wattage upgrade,& x-tra Light output connector))."" EVERY LIGHT IS SUPER BRIGHT "" : New OEM Pulse Generator. : New Clutch Return Spring. : New Oil,Oil Filter,Air Filter,& Sparkplug.( Honda Oil ) : Motor has a Barnett Clutch. It was cleaned,inspected,reoiled,& reinstalled.Did'nt replace it because it is still in excellent shape. (( Lots of clutch adustment left. )) Ok thats it with the motor now the rest. : New "STREET LEGAL" yet real aggressive, Front & Rear Tires,with New Tubes,& center rim protectors. : New Battery. : New OEM Coil. : New OEM CDI. : New Light bulbs (everywhere). Turnsignals,Headlight,Taillight,Speedo,and the other dash lights. : New Seat Cover ( with the XL logos on the side,and the Honda logo on the back. "" LOOKS SWEET "" : New Mirrors,grips,& Handguards. : New Chain. ( Sprockets were fine ) : New Performance Muffler. (( Sounds Awsome )) : The Carbs were rebuit. (( Upgraded Jets were installed )).These bikes were known to run ((LEAN)) from the factory,which made them hard to start((even from the factory)). So the larger jets make it start alot easier. 3 Kicks max. I guess thats it for new stuff. The Front brakes were bled,the pads were cleaned and have 60-65% pads left. The rear Brake shoes were cleaned and have 80-85% life left.The front forks hold air,and dont leak oil.The rear shock i adjusted for my height. I am 5' 9" tall. I believe the shock could be adusted for a person that is (a foot) taller if needed. This bike rides excellent.I took it for a 60 mile drive and my butt never got sore.((LOL)).The engine does not leak a drop of oil.Even the valve cover.If you want a really nice collectable Dualsport then this is it. Extra parts include:: Good stator,pulse generator,coil, 2 CDI's, & a factory manual. !!! This bike is ready to Rock -N- Roll !!!
