Vehicle Detail

1941 Buick Sedan 4 door saved from the crusher several years ago when my friend was closing down his family junkyard..It was such a neat old car that I couldn't stand to see it crushed so I bought it! I do mostly Dodge and Ford pickups so will probably never get to this one! This car is so complete, The car is extensively rotted in the lower edges of doors and floor. The drive train is all there but I have never tried to turn it over or jack it up to move transmission or drive shaft. We brought it out here on a rollback and rolled it off.. Where it was stored must have been in a damp area. So the car is only good for parts, but what a parts car. If I had another buick similar I certainly wouldn't let this slip away. It is not going to bring much money, and after you send me a deposit of 100 dollars I will hold it for up to three months and let you out of the deal if you decide you don't want it for any reason at any time. I have a 100 percent rating and you must be happy with the deal or I don't want you going thru with it. I only see where nine parts are missing and all the rust out is FREE! First I assume it is a 1941 looking at the Gunnell's standard catalog of Buicks. The id tag up on the firewall edge says it is a 1940 but it has split hood and no running boards and the catalog says that makes it a 1941. The data plate is there . The missing parts that I can see gone are the two chrome strips at the bottom of the hood, the four turn signal running lights (two on front fenders and two on tail end) and the two chrome strips on the panel where the running board would be if this car had a running board, which it doesn't. Lastly the bottom half of the back seat is gone. As far as I can tell everything else is there! The engine compartment has every spark plug wire, battery cable, horn radiator and cap, battery hold down etc.. It looks like they parked it and took the battery out. The radio antenna is even there on top of the windshield though it is a little bent on the smallest thinnest section that extends out. The spare tire hold down and spare tire is there. Every piece of glass is there though one or two are cracked. Every knob is there on all four doors though deteriorated. All the little chrome trim pieces on the door panels are there as is the lap blanket cord across the back of the front seat. In prepping the car for death, my friend tore off the four turn signals , took out the gas tank and drained the engine. To repeat, the car is nearly complete with all the little trim parts that came with a nice trim package. All the trim around the windows and on the doors has to be hard to find. I hope someone wants this old beauty so it ceases to sit out in the cold and rot away! I.D. tag says 1940 Mod 51 , Style No.40-4519. Body 65048, Trim # 810 Paint 541
