Vehicle Detail
For auction is our family 300 sedan. The first photo is a file photo of the completed project. This Benz has been in our family since the car was new. My father drove the car for years and then parked it. It was sent to a restoration house in Long Beach, CA, where hundreds of thousands was spent on paint, chrome, body work etc.. Unfortunately it should have been completed at that price. The restoration shop name will be given to those inquiring, but they do concourse restorations for Dusenbergs, Mercedes Benz etc..and he/they were very well known. This car has been in storage since the owner of the restoration shop went belly up. We have all the parts, but the car is not fully assembled. The car has been painted on the frame and exterior beautifully, except for the trunk. The interior is still unrestored. It is a sad story of a restoration shop taking advantage of someone set on keeping this family keepsake, taking their money and not doing the work consistent with the price. My father is now 82, and has trouble driving, and will never drive this car again. I understand some of these parts are interchangeable with more expensive models in the 300 series cars of the era. We can keep in storage for 60 days past the auction end to be flexible. We hope someone will put the "Mariah" back together as it is ultimately a low mileage one owner classic benz with no rust or issues, other than the misfortune of a crooked restoration shop. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. That is dust on the fenders only. The parts have been painted and chrome redone. This Mercedes Benz is unassembled as the photos indicate and in storage in Duarte, CA. The file photo is not of this car but a similar 300 sedan from the same year, with the same color to show what the assembled sedans look like. I want to make sure that everyone also knows, this car has been painted, and dents and dings removed beautifully, except for the trunk lid. Any scratches or issues would be minor and from moving the parts to this storage location. There is no rust anywhere on this car, and the bummpers, grille etc.. have been rechromed as you can see. This car had a frame off paint job where the body was lifted from the chasis, and everything painted and detailed. This was 10 years or more back now. The car will come with a bill of sale and application for new title from the original owner which is my father. We are continuing to look for old registration or the title, but it will be a longshot at this point. I encourage anyone who is able to come see the car, and all the parts, rechomed pieces, for themselves. You can email at hw200@aol.com to schedule a time before auction end. There is no buy it now so please dont ask, just bid on it if you want it. Again, this is a Mercedes Benz that has literally hundreds of thousands into it that will be your gain and our loss.
