PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLACING BIDS OR ASKING QUESTIONS TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION.HEY THANX...MOTOGROTTO...THE BMW BOXER AIRHEAD RESTORATION STATION...SPECIALIZING IN PEACE OF MIND AND PURE MOTORCYCLING SATISFACTION EASTON PA 18040 610-749-0747. THIS BIKE IS NOT FOR ROOKIES...YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE... 1975 BMW GERMAN ANTIQUE POLIZEI BIKE R60/6.Original green and white paint this is in very good original condition.THIS IS THE REAL DEAL NOT A REPLICA OR FAIRY TALE...There are a couple of small dings here and there and the aluminum and frame are in nice shape. The bike is kept in complete climate control atmosphere. It has 39,200 miles with a European speedometer which reads in kilometers @ 63,235 KM.It has the Police issue gas tank which houses a tunnel in the top compartment for wiring for the radio. It has the rear radiobox with locking key.It has a Denfeld Police solo seat and Denfeld leather saddlebags with locking key as the Krauser style ones were not used on Police bikes due to putting the officer in harms way as they would have to stand further in the road to open them. The Lettering on the front of the fairing"POLIZEI" was made by my striper. They are temporarily fixed with 2 sided tape.If you are going to use the bike for an every day runner you take them off and store them.If you are putting the bike in a museum you can remove the backing and they are on.They are right on top of the original lettering that was whitewashed over when the bike was decomissioned. The green police radio has also been decomisioned as well as all police lighting and rendered inoperable. The bike runs very well and has been well cared for.The tires are correct period Metzelers and are perfect for display but should be replaced for every day use.The front brake disc is in good shape and works quite well. The standard R60/6 had a drum brake on the front, the disc was upgraded for this Police model. There is a red dot painted above the dipstick to show where the oil goes and the tire pressure is written on each fender in German "2.2 bar " on the front and "2.4 bar" on the rear. The bike is also equiped with the mindboggling and extremely rare Glaser Monza Autobahn fairing complete with adjustable height windshield larger 8" H4 headlight and the most abomidable and confabulated series of bracketry and integrated safety bars ever to grace a BMW.When tucked behind it,it is truly rocket science at its finest...It also has 2 small removable panels to allow airflow in the warmer weather and 2 small unique foot protectors which are fastened to the motor mounts shown in the photos. These fairings alone go for quite a sum and are often incomplete and without the bracketry which is reminisent of a roll cage in itself. There are a set of rare Talbot mirrors on the front of the fairing and a set of blue Police spots that have been decommissioned as they are not wired and missing the bulb holders along with the BMW blue turn signals which are also decommisioned and rendered inoperable.A set of working amber ones will come on the bike when sale is complete.Ready for Museum, office, living room or rider there are very few of these bikes remaining intact in this condition. You will be the only kid on the block with one of these... There are some interesting covers on the coil units along with a beefy ground strap which insulated the coils from interfering with the police radio which is shown in the photos. This bike is not in perfect condition but is in very good condition and original for a bike this age. This bike is 35 years old and the warranty has lapsed. It is sold as is.Bike is matching numbers and has a clear title. There are no broken engine fins and the wheels are straight. There is a toolkit included. 610-749-0747. THAT'S HOW I ROLL... Thank you for all the interest. MOTOGROTTO...Where it's at! On Apr-30-10 at 20:48:08 PDT, seller added the following information: On May-01-10 at 17:50:37 PDT, seller added the following information: This is an Original Authentic Unrestored bike.It is not perfect as I chose to maintain it's originality by not altering anything. That is how I prefer to get them and prefer to sell them so the new owner can have the privilege of deciding what if anything should be refurbished. It is however awesome with its accumulation of accessories that are quite valuable and extremely hard to come by.Perfect for museum, office, living room display or every day rider, the choice is just a "click" away... IT'S ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE... HEY THANX, MOTOGROTTOOn May-03-10 at 16:48:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a photo of the coils that were insulated to prevent them from interfering with the police radio along with some heavy duty ground straps. This is quite compelling evidence of this bikes authenticity which has been determined by an expert that worked on these bikes in Europe back in the day.It is not a replica or wannabee it is the real thing.Every nut bolt and washer appears to be original except for a few.It would cost double what my reserve is to accumulate these parts and try to create a fake.Paint is original. On May-03-10 at 17:03:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added a photo of the fairing showing how the original POLIZEI lettering was white washed over when the bike was decommissioned as required. This was before I put the new lettering on which was made by an expert sign painter to match the original. It is the last photo. The letters are not permanently attached so you can take them off if desired or remove the backing paper and attach them permanently. The choice is at the discretion of the new owner depending on whether you wish to use as a daily rider or put it in your showroom. Please be sure to read the entire listing description and look at all the photos before asking questions or placing bids. Most questions are answered in the description. This bike is of course matching #'s and clear title.THIS IS MOTOGROTTO.
