Vehicle Detail

What a fun car this is and for not much money. This is my first Corvette, but it won’t be my last. In fact, I am looking for a C5 right now, so this one has to go. It has a recent paint job, a new top, new dash pad, and I am having a new rear window put in now. I cracked the old one by putting the top up and down during freezing weather as I was using the car as a Christmas decoration with Santa in the front seat. I just replaced the alternator, and the battery is a brand new 80-month heavy duty. The front floor mats are nearly new, and there is new carpet on the door kick panel. Options include the usual, plus power driver’s seat, electric door locks which don’t work right now, so you have to lock it with the key, and electrically adjustable mirrors. It has air conditioning which is blowing cool right now, but I had to recharge it last summer, so it may need it again when the weather gets hot. All the switches save the auto door locks work. This car starts and runs great with strong power, and the transmission shifts smoothly and positively. It uses no oil and does not smoke at all. The tires have most of their tread left so you won’t be replacing those for a long, long, time. The disc brakes are good and strong. The last owner probably intended to keep it, but after spending around $3000 on a paint job, $500 or more on a new top, and $500 on a new dash pad traded it to a dealer for a new Corvette. I spent $300 on an alternator and $100 on a battery, and I am now replacing the rear window.. If I were keeping the car, I would get the seats reupholstered, replace door and window seals, and replace the cable that releases the top when you put it down. However, it's simple to manually release the latch that holds the top down. There is a pea sized scratch on the nose, and that is the biggest nick on the paint. There is a picture of the nick as well as a picture of the door seals. Any other nicks are, for the most part, tiny rock dings. The radio antenna is broken off, but I still get all my stations clearly so I haven’t bothered to fix it. The speedo is fading and you can’t see the hundreds place on the mph gauge. Of course, it is a 24 year old car and anything can happen at any time, (like the battery I just replaced) so there is no warranty. It’s not much money and doesn’t cost much to fix when something does break. Your initial investment is so small that you can afford to do some things to it. I hope you love it as much as I have.
