Vehicle Detail

1960 Hillman Husky Very good shape. Paint is a decent older respray with some chips here and there, but very presentable. There are rust bubbles on the rockers (see photos) with some tiny rust holes. Also, a little one on the top of the front fenders. Floors, frame and underside are very solid. Starts up and runs and drives pretty good. No smoke or problems. I did a compression test and each cylinder was over 160PSI. It could probably use a good tune-up to get it to drive 100%. The brakes are pretty much all new. New wheel cylinders, brake shoes and Wilwood master cylinder. No leaks and they work great. Also, new clutch master cylinder. Exhaust has a new down-pipe, muffler and new intake/exhaust gasket. The fuel tank was removed, cleaned and coated, so, no clogged fuel filters. Tires are good and suspension and steering work fine. Odometer says 39,000 miles, but I have no idea if it's accurate. Interior has been completely re-upholstered. I did the work myself, so the sewing is not quite up to professional standards, but, as you can see from the pictures, it looks very nice. The steering wheel and dash were also restored to a very nice standard and seat belts have been installed in the front. Comes with a very nice custom car cover. All in all, it's a very nice, extremely rare classic that you can use right away. At a British car meet there will be plenty of MG, Triumph and Jaguar, but, you'll definitely be the only Hillman Husky. However, there are plenty of parts suppliers and group support for these cars. I highly recommend that you inspect the car before bidding. If you have any questions give me a call at the number below. If you are interested in bidding, it would be best to give me call so that I know you're a serious bidder. Bidders with no feedback whom I haven't talked to may have their bids removed. Car is being advertised locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction if it sold. My reserve is only $100 below the 'Buy-it-now' price, so if you want it, buy it. Remember, when you bid you are entering into a contract to buy the car, not to come look at it decide if you really want it. If you want a test drive or inspection, do it BEFORE bidding. If you don't have the full amount at hand, please, don't bid. The winning bidder is required to pay a $1500 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The balance paid in cash when the car is picked up. I will not arrange for shipping, however, I will be glad to help load it on a truck. I only drive the car around town, so, I definitely recommend having it towed or shipped unless you live very close. Car is located in Arlington, Virginia 22207.
