Vehicle Detail

1970 Skylark (Built in Canada) with 96,000 original miles. Motor is a 350 2bbl with a 350 th trans, and a 12 bolt chevy rearend. The only thing this needs is an exhaust as the single axhaust was in horrible shape and by the end of last years season it had to be pulled off. Other than that it starts, runs, drives fine, and is a steal at this price. Too many projects and I have to move it. Drive train is original to the car and runs good. Car originally gold with a black bench interior. Original bucket seat brackets were welded in the car and a nice set of A-body buckets were sourced to be put in. The interior is original and in good shape. I was planning on putting the GS interior in it and never got around to it. The floors are all original and with no rust problems at all. In the pics you see a little surface rust maybe, and the other brown looking stuff in from the old deadner that was under the carpet as that is original as well. But there are no holes on this floor. The heater still blows fine, and blows warm when you want it to. The speedo, gas gauge, and dash lights work. All exterior lights had new bulbs put in last spring. The brakes are non power drums and work just as they should. The hood is from an original GS. The hood tach and GSX wing were put on in the appropriate places. The tires have great tread, and the rims still shine real nice. The body was totally striped down of the original gold color and epoxy primered in grey. All the original emblem holes were welded up and smoothed over for an exact GSX clone. All the trim was removed and stored. The rockers are solid and have the holes for the rocker trim. The bottom of the driver side fender was patched. The pass side rear quarter had a patch panel put in it. It was but welded in place and needs the finishing body work to smooth out the area, but the hard part is done. The trunk is perfect as in the pics there is some surface rust but no holes or soft spots. The original jack and spare are still there. This is a really great car for the price. It is a perfect father son project or something that you can drive while you finish, and you can still go in any direction that you want with the build. Good luck and happy bidding.
