Vehicle Detail

I'm selling the 1985 Brat I've owned since new. Over the past 25 years it has hauled tons of stuff, gotten me through snow and mud, and been totally dependable, but now I have too many vehicles, so it has to go. Here are the details: MECHANICAL: The truck has had all factory-recommended routine maintenance since new. The engine and drivetrain are original and have never required anything beyond routine maintenance. The engine uses no oil and the transmission works well in 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive high, and 4 wheel drive low. BODY: This truck was rustproofed by the dealer when new and has been garage kept most of its life (though it's been the vehicle displaced from the garage when I was working on projects that required the space). But it's also been out in every snowstorm since 1985, and it has had some rust over the years in the rear wheel wells, outriggers, floor, sills, and probably a few more spots I don't remember. In each case, as soon as I've seen the damage, I've cut out the rusty spot and welded in new metal (I've been using galvanized steel for the last 10 years or so), so the truck has never had any large or structurally compromising areas of rust. I've included pictures of the rear wheel wells and undercarraige to show as well as I can the repair quality and current condition. In 2002 I was rear-ended while sitting at a stoplight. The impact was at low speed, so there was no structural damage, but the tailgate, rear bumper, and rear valence were replaced. I also took the opportunity to repaint the bed, which had wear and scratches from normal hauling. There has never been any other body damage, although there are a few dings from errant pieces of firewood over the years (I've included a picture of one of the larger dings, though it's a little tough to see). Even with the replacement tailgate, the Imperial Red paint is about 85-90% original (not including the bed). It has retained its gloss well, but has a few superficial scratches and small defects in the clear coat. INTERIOR: The interior is in good to very good condition. The dash pad is intact. All instruments and displays, including the original radio, work fine. The T-tops are water-tight and all the glass is in good shape. OTHER STUFF: The truck comes with the original space-saver spare tire and jack, a complete tool kit, the original window sticker, and 25 years worth of receipts. Over the years I've made 3 changes: 1) I took the rear seats out of the bed the day I bought the truck. They are long gone. 2) As a (questionable) fashion statement, I exchanged the original black front bumper for a chrome one from a 1982 model. This is a bolt-on change, so it can easily be reversed, but I don't have the original bumper. 3) I changed the seats from Brat (non-adjustable headrest) to Coupe (adjustable headrest) style. The seat materials and pattern are the same, and, again, it's just a bolt-in change. Although on a vehicle of this age there are no guarantees, I would have no qualms about driving the truck anywhere. The inspection ran out in November, and I didn't get it re-inspected because I was contemplating getting antique tags (no inspection required) when it turned 25 in January, but I know of nothing that would keep it from passing Pennsylvania inspection now. The tires have about 10-15% of tread left, so they will probably need to be replaced sometime in the next 5,000-10,000 miles. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me through the eBay “Ask a question” function and I'll reply as promptly as possible. I am selling this truck with no reserve and do not require a down payment. If you don't like what you what you see when you come to pick it up, you're under no obligation to complete the transaction (just keep in mind when you bid that this is an unrestored 25 year old truck). I will require the full purchase price in cash at the time of pick up.
