Meticulously maintained and possibly the lowest mileage 2004 GX470 on the market in the world. Pristine condition; nearly presents and drives like a new car. This model was sold outside of North America (with far fewer options) as the Toyota Landcruiser Prado. Service completely up to date and nothing needed for safety certification. The reliability and build quality of the 2004 GX470 is confirmed everywhere; it is an extremely well-engineered and rugged but still very luxurious vehicle. Many owners report 300,000 miles with no major issues. This one has the mileage of less than the average three year old car.I am a “car guy”, and a lawyer that pays attention to details fanatically. That has added up to too many cars and too little time to spend driving them. I’ve reluctantly decided to let this one go to a home that will put it to better use than I do.It's spent the majority of its life in a climate-controlled garage and was seldom winter driven. There is no UV damage at all, all rubber and plastic is factory fresh and the interior smells new.In addition to everything it came with from the factory, model-correct Weather Tech rubber mats are fitted. The factory carpet mats are also included in perfect condition.One rare feature of this model is that it is a true 8-seater (more than a mini-van!). The rear jump seat forms a bench that seats three children, each with their own three-point belts and individual headrests.This vehicle has every option that was available for the GX-470 in North America (the list is easily found online). Included is the factory rear seat DVD system for which the screen folds down from the roof and separate audio from the system can be fed to two pairs of Lexus wireless headphones. There’s even a wireless remote for the rear entertainment system. The remote even has its own holder that clips onto the back of the front seats.All displays in the vehicle except for the odometer (75,474 which is in kilometers, which works out to under 47,000 miles) read out in metric or US imperial with the flip of a switch - no conversion work is needed for U.S. import. Here are a few of the features that makes this one of the most capable and versatile SUV’s ever produced:- The 4-wheel drive system includes a manual engaging low range transfer case and a switch to lock the centre differential. This truck can can go from driving like a luxury car to hardcore 4x4 and easily handle practically any terrain. It could gracefully tow extremely heavy loads while doing it as well. - The engine produces an incredible amount of torque at all speeds; it is extremely powerful.- The suspension is self-leveling and the ride height of the rear shocks is adjustable with a switch. - The firmness of the shocks is also adjustable from “sport” mode, which very firm, to “comfort”, which is more compliant.- Excellent Mark Levinson audio system.- The interior of the truck is otherwise extremely quiet at all speeds.- Full trailer hitch kit (currently fitted with a 2” ball) and lighting harness.- Weathertech custom-fit rubber mats including trunk. - 3M clear paint protection applied in 2011 to leading edge of hood and front fenders; UV block protective film applied to headlights. Maintenance Highlights:- All mileage has been highway since day 1; this car has always been a weekend cottage vehicle.- All service is up to date, including recent oil service. - The major service interval (usually 100k miles) maintenance, including replacement of the timing belt, was performed two years ago and brand new Continental tires were installed (DOT date 0415). Only about 5,000 miles have been driven since. - Full service records from new; literally every single detailed record.- Only premium fuel has been used in this truck since new. It can run regular but I’ve always preferred not to expose my long-term vehicle fuel systems to the alcohol that is mixed into regular fuel. Things that aren’t brand new looking:- The wheel rims have a bit of oxidation near the centre hubs. Every Lexus truck of this era seems to have this problem, unfortunately.- The undercarriage has some light surface rust on it. Every ladder-on-frame truck has this and I’ve had it oil sprayed annually up to last year to protect it but I haven’t had time to do it this year and if I look closely I can see it (see photo). These are minor aesthetic issues but I just want to point them out in the interests of complete openness.
