Relisting My 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera as buyer could not obtain financing. This is an excellent example of a 996, with 57,000 extremely documented miles. I am the second owner, and the car has been maintained at Porsche Plano since bought new. Have every maintenance record to back this up, along with an exceptionally clean Carfax. Only ever had Porsche mechanics touch this car. Brand new interior, headliner with the only real signs of wear is in the soft touch plastic. All new seals, car doesn't leak a drop of oil. This car has been meticulously maintained, and although it’s a very low mileage car, it has always been routinely driven. 996s that have not been routinely driven are the ones that have been most susceptible to IMS bearing seal dry out and loss of lubrication, with subsequent failure. While this car has extremely low oil leakage, there is no evidence of any bearing material or bearing grease leakage in any underside fluid residue, which is what we look for to indicate spending $2500 on an IMS bearing upgrade would be prudent.
