I resurrected this vehicle which had been sitting for about four years under a cover in a local town. Engine has been gone over and many of the gaskets have been replaced. Here is the “Good, Bad & Ugly” on this car. The Good: new brakes, 4 New wheel cylinders, new brake hoses, new gas tank and sending unit, new fuel pump, spark plugs are new, upgrades to electronic Petronix points, new glass packs, new master cylinder, new battery. New Aluminum radiator. Car runs nice and drives nice. New passenger side exhaust manifold - I believe it will need drivers side also in near future....recent head and valve job & seals. The bad: Well the car is 54 years old and should be considered a running Restoration project. The convertible top has some small holes that are only patched with some tape. Top will need eventual replacing. Electric power top is not working- the lines and components are there, I believe the pump motor is shot. I bought the car like this- attempted to power up power motor and it does not work. It is partially disconnected behind rear seat. There are some patches in the floor under drivers feet- sheet metal patch. Headlights work but rear tail lights don’t come on- one brake light works when you step on brake. Radio antenna needs to be replaced I believe it was taken off by old owner because of car cover. Door panels need some attention and drivers side arm rest is missing - see pics and videos. Passenger side exhaust manifold was replaced by a newer stock- divers side exhaust manifold has wear on #2 and may need replacement slight exhaust leak. The Ugly: rear drivers side lower quarter panel and trunk drop off is ugly and will need work. Passenger side is also bad and will eventually need attention. See pics and video.Trunk drop offs bad - See pics and videos please!!! So basically you have a running driving restoration project that can be repaired as you go. Hopefully you have an indoor spot to put the car because the top is not in the greatest shape and all old convertible’s tend to leak which leads to other problems. I have to make room for another project so she has to go. Included are original black wheels with galaxie XL hubcaps I will put in the trunk. If you are looking for a show car this is not even close, but it’s a classic car that someone can have some fun with and fix as you go! Odometer showing 50,000 - but the speedometer was replaced - old title said 95,000 - so car has over 100k but not sure exact mileage.
