Vehicle Detail
1994 Honda CR500R. Runs great, nice and crisp. Last couple of years, I have only raced it 2 or 3 times per year. Is it a perfect, museum quality restoration suitable to put on display in your living room? No, it isn't. However, if you want a great running, super powerful classic motocross bike to race, simply check your tire pressures, put some fresh pre-mixed fuel in it, take it to the track and sign in, it is literally THAT ready to go. You don't need to spend money before racing it. It has Pro-Circuit pipe, 04 CRF450 forks, Recent tires, recent brakes, recent steering head hearings, recent chain and sprockets, recent plastics, etc etc. Suspension is set for 200lb Vet Intermediate outdoor motocross and it's jetted nice and crisp for Glen Helen elevation. Bike had some feature photos in Motocross Action Magazine back in 2016 as "Best in the Pits". There is no warranty. The bike is 24 years old, was designed and built specifically as a high performance racing competition vehicle and most racing machines don't even have a warranty when new, so it obviously has no warranty now it's used and 24 years old. The bike starts easily, first kick many times, 2 or 3 kicks if it hasn't started in three or four weeks. I raced it most recently about six or seven weeks ago, did a 5 lap practice session and two 5 lap motos. Bear in mind riding from pit to start line, then shutting bike off, and re-starting at the line each time, it was started a total of six times that day, and started first kick all six times. As my description above states, it is not a restored bike, it is a bike that is in regular use and will probably be enjoyed best by someone who will regularly use it, just like I have. If you want to do a restoration, great! This bike would be a great bike restored, but have fun on it, ride it, race it, and let it make you smile first! I have three 500 two strokes, and a bunch of other bikes, it's too nice and too much fun of a bike for it to just sit idle as often as it does while waiting it's turn.
