Vehicle Detail
1970 MGB GT: (California car that is exempt from smog requirements) Chrome bumpers, historic vehicle, restoration project in Flame Red with Black interior. Good drivetrain (engine, transmission, rear differential). Floors look relatively sound. Frame is great shape too. Dash/gauges are all in good condition. Solid glass all around. New 12 Volt single battery. The coachwork is quite solid and in good condition. However, as the photos show, there was a poor bondo repair made on the bonnet. I am including a replacement BONNET in the sale. Additionally the interior needs to be refurbished I purchased the car in 1992 in a lien sale and have the original paperwork from the sale. Although I drove, and worked on the car through the years, I never fully restored it. Because I owned 2 other MGBGT’s that I did in fact restore at the time, I put this restoration aside for a later date and never got to it. The car was very driveable as late as 2013 (insured with JT Taylor Classic Car Insurance up until 2013). At that time, I put it into 'dry hibernation' due to some mechanical issues that arose (needs waterpump and clutch replaced). A new replacement CLUTCH is included. Although the car started fine last year, presently the car tries to start but does not continue to run. Although the fuel pump works fine, non-use seems to have resulted in fuel delivery problem (perhaps vapor lock). Also, I’m sure the SU carburators (as is normally the case) will likely require tuning. I do believe this should be an easy fix. This is a classic, complete solid car with excellent potential for full restoration. I am selling it because of moving to Europe. These cars are a blast to drive.... The car will require trailer collection, due to the mechanical issues.
