Vehicle Detail

How I came across the car: I am a commercial landlord and car enthusiast, and recently bought this Volvo from a tenant who had parked it behind his rental unit after it stopped running, due to what he determined to be an electrical issue. The car was his daily driver through July, and has not sat long. The electrical issue turned out to be a loose ground wire running to the back of the head, and the car fired right up. I considered keeping it, but I have too many cars already. I haven't driven it much, but I've taken it around town a bit, and did a quick blast down the highway at 80, and it went straight, with no steering wobble or other issues. This is the base model, with the smaller I-5 turning the front wheels only. The Bad: the car has 200K, so be ready for that. Inside: It has a split on the drivers seat (only along the seams, and perforations are intact for re-stiching). Has some wear on the steering wheel. The sunroof doesn't work. Outside: a number of nicks, dings, scuffs, and delaminating spots mar otherwise pretty good paint. The worst dent is shown in its own picture, above passenger's side front wheel. One of the rims (originally on the back, now front right) was delaminating, so I spray-painted it, and to be honest, I'm impressed and a bit surprised with the outcome. Mechanically: front end takes bumps hard, presumably due to aging bushings, and turning the wheel all the way to the right puts the tire in contact with the plastic wheel shroud. These cars have an atrocious turning radius, so this makes it worse. It might just be the exhaust, but I've smelled gasoline around the rear end, so there may be an aging vent line you'll need to dig for. It's faint, and doesn't occur every time I run it, and might not be an issue, but is worth mentioning. The Good: Inside: Very clean, even for a car with half the miles. No tears, scuffs, scratches, etc (other than indicted above). Dash is perfect. Seats are firm and super comfy, with nice side bolstering. Carpets are in fine shape. All power features work (minus sunroof). Power seats in the front. Rear seats fold down flat with no removal of headrests, which makes me want to keep this car more than anything else. Trunk compartments, door panels, and other plastic bits are clean as if new, or very close. Headliner is tight. The car has a brand new windshield which I had installed (I just can't sell a car with a cracked windshield). A/C works awesome. I didn't check the cassette player, but the CD, radio and speakers work and sound great. Outside: two new tires up front (w/i a couple k miles, tops), two decent tires on the back. No broken lights, glass, moldings etc. All lights and signals work, even the ones on the fenders. Overall the car looks good, and has plenty of shine. Mechanically: car runs quiet, smooth, and cool, with no whines, hisses or chatter. Brakes are smooth, and pads look to have been changed recently, with 3/4 of an inch of meat on them. The car has a good stance, and all shocks are fine. Exhaust is perfect. New battery. Not a hint of rust that I've seen, except on rear license plate bracket. I've tried to list everything I know about this car, but if I've left something out, or if you have any questions, please let me know. This is a no reserve auction, and the car is sold as-is, where is.
