Vehicle Detail

I am moving and have to downsize. This car is a 1965 Chevy Impala SS 396 Muncie 4 transmission. Very hard to find. I put on period license plates from California - these do not come with the sale but can be negotiated with the sale. This is an original triple black from the factory - see Cowell Tag pictures. The top is pretty new, the hydropump is new. The top goes up and down like it should. A new clutch was put in when I bought it. I have all the original paperwork that came with the car since 1965. There have been 3 owners besides me. I drive it at least once or twice a week. It fires up quickly. I keep it garaged and on a trickle charger. There are some small electrical gremlins around but I have been solving many of the issues myself. The paint job is not bad as you can tell. Certainly looks good from 10 ft away but there are chips and scratches here and there. It has power brakes and steering. The seats, panels and windows are in good shape. I believe they use to be power windows because of the wiring. It has a period correct Holly Carburetor on it and an Edelbrock intake. I have a Rochester Carburetor as well, along with a bunch of other parts for the car that will go with the sale - correct headers, lots of aluminum trim, original distributor, wood interior trim, headlights, new hood hinges, master cylinder. Let me know if you have any questions. On Sep-16-18 at 07:56:26 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple notable issues: 1. the emergency brake needs to be fixed 2. the speedometer cable is unplugged - I did this because it was making noise. I just havent had time to deal with it. 3. the trunk liner is brand new but I havent attached it yet. 4. the reverse light switch comes with the car but hasnt been attached 5. I also have the oil pressure sending unit that needs to be inserted. 6. there is no serious rust issues. The only rust I know of is where the trunk liner attaches to the back top. It can still attach, but I have seen rust chips in the trunk. I certainly do not think is a huge deal, but that is me. 7. Keep in mind that the 396/325 engine and Muncie transmission are original together, that is, they were paired together, but are from another Chevy, not this car. This car originally came with these items in the documentation. It is an old car, so there are ALWAYS issues. These are the kinds of things that make it fun to own an old car. This sale as is and I reserve the right to end the auction early due to having it for sale through other venues. On Sep-16-18 at 08:01:55 PDT, seller added the following information: As a last note, I live in La Canada. I drive this car all over. A couple weeks ago, I drove this car on Highway 2, to the 5 South, to the 10 West and then to the 90 - to the beach. It ran fine in stop and go traffic and cruised nicely at 65 - 70 mph (when the speedometer worked). I probably drove it for 1.5 hrs to the beach, and experienced no issues.
